It's extremely irreverent in its treatment of Gen Zia, so I can understand it might be a little weird if you knew his family! I found it a great read - a taut thriller about one of the most persistent mysteries of our times, and wonderfully sarcastic (it reminded me of Rushdie in Midnight's Children and Shame). The unexpected! romance just adds to its brilliance.
