You know, those phone-in radio programmes? The ones where people call in to dedicate songs and messages to their friends/family/beloved? Am I the only person who shudders everytime someone mentions "I wrote down these lines I'd really like to say...?"

I don't understand it. Why? Why feel this need to inflict your HORRIBLE POETIC SKILLS upon the rest of the world? If you really want to quote something nice for your beloved, aren't there SO MANY lovely poems/songs out there from which you can quote? Why the insanity? Why? Why?

I shudder at every dedication regardless of content.

I rather think each and every one of those people sounds like a complete moron when they start rambling about how "special" their loved one is. Horrid poetic skills just make the person appear to be a cut above the usual morons who call up those shows.
