Hey! I'm glad you came over - I'm always dying to talk about the show.
People are so quick to judge the decision she made about his leg, but do they really know what they would do in a similar situation? He had already coded once...how many of us could really sit back and watch someone we love die?
Exactly. I have been trying to read and comment in the 'Three Stories' thread in TWoP - it's like banging your head against a solid brick wall. 'She took away his choice. It was not her decision to make. She is evil.' But she saved his damn life! It was not the 'right' thing to do - because there was no right left here, only different kinds of wrong. It's something that I find completely forgivable *and* completely unforgivable. And I admire that she had the steel to take a decision like that, *knowing* what it would mean, *knowing* that it would be a betrayal of House's wishes.
Stacy was not always portrayed sympathetically. She is ruthless, she is manipulative, she is like House in many, many ways - I understand if someone dislikes her for that. My personal lowest point for Stacy was when she slept with House, after claiming that she doesn't sleep around. I know why she did, of course, and I can be sympathetic towards it - but it was cheating. It was a horrible thing to do. Her arc was also poorly handled. But that said, I still like her, and I wish more people would.
I love the dynamic between House/Stacy and I hope that at some point, maybe after House works out at least some of his issues, she'll come back and they can be together. But, then, I'm a hopeless romantic. Their whole story just breaks my heart!
It does break my heart, but I'm a different sort of a romantic. The ship works for me *because* it doesn't work for them anymore. It's like a Greek tragedy. Epic, star-crossed lovers? Yes, please. *g*
