* ‘Are you gonna congratulate me?’
‘If you’re happy, I’m…’
HIS FACE IN THAT SCENE. *FLAPPY FLAILY HANDS* Thank you, Hugh Laurie, for breaking my heart into tiny little pieces. YET AGAIN. He looked so betrayed. Trust House to make Cuddy’s adoption bid all about himself, but my heart goes out to him after that Look. Because here he has been trying to get her to see what he can do for people he loves (he trusted her with his SECRET CHEERLEADER PAST - no, I'm never going to refer to this in non-capslock), and there she is, not only failing to see him in any other light than the usual, but also not trusting him enough with her big, life-changing decision, even though he was her favoured secret-keeper the last time she tried this. That was before his ‘It’s a good thing you failed to be a mother, because you suck at it’, which is the cruellest thing House has ever said on the show (and he has said a lot of astonishingly cruel things). And at that time, it was Wilson who stood by her—something House is not aware of. He has spent most of his time and energy in the past month wooing Wilson back, Cuddy by his side; and now that he has his Wilson back, finally, it seems as though he has fallen from her grace while he was not looking. And he himself is entirely responsible for it.
* The Wilson-Cuddy here filled me with great joy, because YES, the two of them are friends and they should be, because they’re good for each other and because they need adult companionship.
* I… don’t think I’m in a position to talk coherently about Cuddy. I’m sorry. She was happy and smiling and House is sad, and it’s clearly going to end in tears AND I DO NOT THINK I CAN HANDLE THIS, FLIST. *breaks down crying*
*14: Okay, this is the only smooshed-up pairing name I will ever use, borrowing from Zulu, because how awesome were Thirteen and Foreman in this episode? Omar Epps is so wonderfully subtle as Foreman, and Olivia Wilde killed me dead with the pretty. The scene in the locker room with the two of them? GAH. Killed me.
* Aww, Foreman expects honesty from Chase. I love my Ducklings so much.
* One of the many interesting things about having the new team is that there has been definite shift in House’s relationship with the Ducklings. Foreman was very clearly his peer in this episode (with the adorable matching ‘Like Thirteen’; Foreman’s spoken with resignation and House’s with glee), and so was Cameron.
* House has taken Thirteen under his wing. There is no way this is not awesome.
* They’re going to make Cuddy cry in the next episode, aren’t they? TELL THEM TO NOT MAKE HER SUFFER OMG.
I'm going to have a very hard time watching the next episode.
