So... really, if it's possible for doctors to miss a woman pregnant with twins in labor, lol, this doesn't seem too unbelievable by comparison.

She might have been tired, but that could have been past off as the flu or something. There might have been bleeding, but she's a 14 year old girl; bleeding isn't exactly cause for concern.
The girl was smart as well, so it's possible she made up a good story. The same with the child - she may have been in denial, she may have been guilty *not* because she left behind a dead child but a *living* child. Or maybe the child was quiet, but not dead (this part I believe, because apparently *I* was born quiet and the doctors made me cry). It's still very convenient, though - lazy writing that takes fanwanking and fans' desire to believe in the CHRISTMAS MIRACLE! for granted.
