I'm a little bit speechless right now. How can you not know????!!!! LOL, I KNOW. One of the common themes for the show was that a lot of the women had been told they were infertile, in a couple of cases because of their obesity. Still, you really do have to wonder WTF is wrong with people and DOCTORS to not realize that somebody is in labor.
I don't know if I'd qualify this particular episode as a victim of lazy writing as much as I think there was just too much going on. There was the Huddy tension, Cuddy relating to the patient, Cuddy wanting a baby, the fact that the teenage boy had been the girl's secret lover, Foreman wanking about how he was turning into House, Foreteen, Thirteen and things related to the drug trial, the House/Wilson bet about kindness, the idiot patient in the clinic, and Kutner dealing with his own bullying issues. Had the Huddy stuff been put on hold or the storylines branching from Thirteen been pared down/saved for an episode where the material might have been more relevant, for instance, we might have had more time to bond/understand the patient and what exactly was going on. So I guess the issue to my mind is lazy editing, :-P
