ijemanja talks about fluff. If I weren't feeling braindead, I'd add something intelligent, but I'll just nod and say, "What she said." The thing about fluff is that the sheer JOY (THREESOME! ZOMBIES! PIRATES! HIJINKS! ETC!) that surrounds the work, on the part of the writer and on the part of the readers - that JOY comes through and that, in itself, is a part of fluff's charm.
* My baaaby sister turned 18 on Monday. When did *that* happen? I remember her being *born*, you know, everyone wondering whether it'd be a boy or a girl and I insisted that it would be a girl, and it was. I remember visiting my mother in the hospital, very vaguely, and the day they came back and I came back on school and suddenly realised that there were more *people* in the house now.
