OMG release date YAY! 16th July! That's just... a few months away. Pre-order, here I come! *squee*

You know the first thought I had after I learnt that the book was going to be released? JKR better not kill Remus. Talk about a one-track mind. *facepalm*

My current state of mind is half-excited, half-scared, and half "but I was enjoying exploring this post-OotP universe so much, couldn't it have come a bit later?". I *want* this book, but what if I don't like it? What if she confirms a ship I couldn't care less for? What if she KILLS Remus? (I know the Trio aren't dying in this book) And after this, there'll be just one book left!

I will never forgive the person who pointed out to me, just before book five came out, that there were three books left and three remaining Marauders and therefore one should die in each...arrrrrrrghh! My thoughts exactly. As we discussed via chat the other night, I wasn't all that emotionally invested in the fandom when OotP came out. Things are a little bit different now *coughjustalittlecough* so I'm rather nervous about what she's going to give us. Because for me Jo's word is law, I'm afraid. I find it very hard to deny her canon.

We can hold cyberhands in July, okay?

I wouldn't be surprised if Dumbledore died, either. He seems to heading in that direction for sure. I'd miss him, but I *can* spare him (notRemusno). Besides, McGonagall would make for an excellent headmistress.

If it's one of the Weasley, I bet it will be Percy, or the Twins (because killing one of them would be just too cruel). *sob*

I wouldn't mind Dumbledore's death. I like his character, but years of reading stories with the mentor trains hero/mentor dies/hero comes into his own pattern have prepared me for his death since the page where he was introduced. *wry gryn* He almost has to die in order for Harry to really defeat Voldemort. Would McGonagall become headmistress, though? I'm not sure that's how the system works...(and eek, what if McGonagall dies too?)

But Remus must live! And I'd love for Peter to defy Darth Vader predictions and live too, one way or another.

And noooooo, no killing the twins! I'd rather Percy lived but as an evil-good-guy. I bet Charlie or Bill is toast. Hmmmmmmmmmm.

Hmm, I suppose he does. However, *before* he dies, I'd like an explanation of all the weird things he's done so far - like the 'gleam' in his eyes; not killing Voldie; 'some things are worse than death', and so on. *g*

Shouldn't the Asst. Headmistress be the first choice for the post? And no, no killing McGonagall. She kicks some serious ass.

And I'd love for Peter to defy Darth Vader predictions and live too, one way or another.

Peter has that 'bond' with Harry, doesn't he? That should come into play sometime soon.

I thought so too, but somehow I feel it's going to be someone who's had more screentime. You know, for the emotional response. Fandom may love Bill and Charlie, but a 'mundane' would hardly remember their names.

I'd like some explainations, but those never seemed too cryptic to me. I thinkt he gleam just indicates that Voldy having used Harry's blood is creates a weakness Harry will later be able to exploit; he doesn't kill Voldy because he believes the prophecy stating that only Harry can do so; and he's a painfully good guy and believes that, for example, to become a person like Voldy would be a worse thing than death, yadda yadda yadda.
