The Cowardly Dog is nudging me with her nose because I happened to make the mistake of mentioning 'go' and 'chain', and that, in Cowardly Dogspeak, is 'we will now go out for a walk.' Even if it is 11 AM, and we never go out for walks at this hour.

House 7.03 was surprisingly enjoyable. It's so, so good to have House obsess over a case again - it almost felt old-skool, complete with Inappropriate Use of Hospital Machinery, and Extra Clinic Hours from the Bosslady. That was some lovely meta on fanboys and fannishness in general as well.

What I did not enjoy, however, was that the only time Cuddy and Sam actually interacted on the episode was tinged with animosity, which, while in character, also goes on to show, yet again, what the show writers really think of women interacting. Season Two was an exception that way, with Cuddy and Stacy actually acting like friends, but even then we had Cuddy being dismissive of Cameron. *shakes head*

Meanwhile, on THE OLIVIA DUNHAM SHOW, OLIVIA WAS GREATER THAN THE CIRCUMSTANCES, THE MULTIVERSE, AND EVERYTHING. I won't lie, I enjoyed this episode x100 times more than the previous one, and I'm looking forward much, much more to the fifth episode than the fourth one. Because Altlivia is nice and all, and I really do love Walter, but I don't call this the Olivia Dunham Show for nothing. Olivia >>>>> Altlivia, any day. It was absolutely brilliant how Olivia was absolutely herself even when she was Altlivia. My sister and I began with the chorus of 'fight it, fight iiiiiit', and squeed in joy when her Olivia-self slowly began to take over, culminating in Lincoln's 'bossy' comment. Because yes, Olivia takes charge, Olivia doesn't just stand back and allow Peter and Broyles to investigate while she obeys orders; contrast this with Altlivia in the previous episode. Olivia throws herself headfirst into everything, not because she's a 'daredevil' (although she is. a daredevil.) but because she's Olivia, she can't help herself - unlike Altlivia, who's a consummate professional also capable of Having A Life, Olivia's job is her life, she's just built that way. I ♥ how she threw the MOTW's equation out of balance by simply being herself. I also loved that the MOTW plot - which, by the way, was really awesome - featured a brother and a sister, precisely what Olivia doesn't have in this universe. She'll figure it all out by the next episode, I know she will.

Also, OMG, CHARLIEEEE HOW MUCH DO YOU LOVE HIM? ♥♥♥ Of course he senses something is wrong, because Charlies always know their Olivias. Can we keep him? And Linc? (WHO, APPARENTLY, KISSED ALTLIV AND DEFINITELY HAS A BIT OF A CRUSH ON HER) I won't lie, I ship Linc/Charlie/Olivia and all possible permutations and combinations thereof.

ALTSTRID! Who is not a cyborg, alas, but a genius savant, but she's awesome nonetheless.

Alt-Broyles should lend his clothes to our Broyles, who, while rocking the suits, is no match for his counterpart over there. Yum. I really love how worried he is about his Olivia Dunham. Broyleses in all universes are protective about their Olivias. <3

CHILLS ran down my spine when Walternate said that he now had a much bigger laboratory. CHILLS. He reminds of Vetinari, in a way, if Vetinari's universe was at war with another.

Meanwhile, I guess I'll have to a picspam type thing again, BECAUSE THIS SHOW IS SO SMART WITH THE VISUAL CUES: the reflection shots, the split-Olivia, the colour symbolism (a persistent red and yellow; yellow was little Olive's favourite colour, yellow is the colour Altlivia had her mother use in her walls) and the glyphs in the background.♥♥♥

Here, have a pretty flower.

Shiuli, or Night-blooming Jasmine, or Parijat. A Culturally Significant Flower that sends me into bouts of nostalgia/glee whenever I spot one. We have a plant in our place, which is really a pathetic excuse for a shiuli tree, tiny, hardly blossoms (hence the one tiny flower, flist, not because I'm being ~arteestic). There's one in the backyard of my childhood home, tall and treelike; it blossoms so much in Autumn that on good days, the ground is a white/orange blur. When we were kids, we made it a point to collect them, while cautiously avoiding the creepy green caterpillars these plants seem to attract so much.
