And how much did you love Glinda's comments about her marriage? *g*
Ooh, yes. Ranks right up there with 'Chuffrey's dry as a nut', which made poor Crop choke. Those were the moments when Glinda reminded me of Shiz!Glinda - still carefree, untouched by all the darkness (despite Dillamond's death and Ama Clutch).
SoaW for me was ups and downs
Me too. The return home was beautiful, especially when Nanny talks about Elphaba, beginning in a lucid manner and then returning to her usual state, calling out for Elphaba. That bit *killed* me. I don't know what to say about Shell, really. It was creepy. It was just plain WRONG. He's worse than Nessarose, no doubt about that. Nessarose had always been religious - WTF is he up to?
with Glinda's help! SQUEE
YES! *SQUEES* How much does she rock? Srsly.
It seems the events were more high-stakes than Wicked, and yet not, because everything was more conventional.
Yes, yes, because they're winning. Or at least, getting close to it. Elphaba never did. And because Liir doesn't (can't) have Elphaba's edge.
Seriously? I don't think there's anything left to expand to make an actual sequel. Because SoaW itself was not, to me, a sequel to Wicked, but more of a *conclusion*. The justification we needed.
But...but... what about Shell? What about the Birds? Lirr/Trism/Candle? And what will happen to the maunts? And this child? There are so many things that have remained unexplained - why would Maguire do that unless he has a sequel in mind? *crosses fingers*
