I find it really odd when people come to comment on someone's fic and all they talk about is their own story, or something else that's not relevant to the story at all. Or a random line that makes no sense.

No, this didn't happen to me (even though I posted fic yesterday. see how subtly I pimp myself?). There's this story I have been following - a couple of stories, actually. On LJ. And there's this author, who's somewhat popular in her own corner of the fandom, and who also comments on these stories. I read one of her comments once, and thought, 'Weird!' Then I never thought anything about her again till I found *another* comment by her, in the same vein. And then another one. I did some looking around, and they were all the same.

It's just... odd. Meh.

No, I'm not excited about Book 7 at all. I won't get to read it till god knows when and I don't care. No, I'm not in denial, why do you ask?

Mine is quite good, actually, and has improved in the past year because of living in a Hindi-speaking place. But I don't think I'll ever get the gender right, and translating is simply beyond me.

I find that very rude. I don't mind a bit of rambling about how a reviewer sees the characters, or even the (very) occasional self-pimp, because if a story of mine generates discussion, then that's good. But at least be polite and tell the writer what you think!
