Oct. 14th, 2007 04:49 pmI have finally watched new House. It made me very happy. And thoughtful. There will be more thoughts later, but meanwhile, very brief reaction post:
HOW MUCH DOES WILSON ROCK? NO, SRSLY. ALSO, HOUSE SAID I LOVE YOU OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want Ridiculously Old Guy to stay, I don't how. But I do. He is made of awesome.
I like 13. Apparently fandom hates her. Oh fandom, you never change. *sigh* Also, House does have a thing for passionate young women he can't quite figure out, doesn't he?
HOW MUCH DOES CHASE ROCK? NO, SRSLY. AND WHAT ABOUT THAT SCENE WHERE HOUSE SEES HIM FOR THE FIRST TIME? OMG. I've been 'getting' House/Chase a bit throughout last season, and I think this seals it for me. House/ChaseOTP4evah.
Cameron's reaction after Chase renders House speechless - hee!
FOREMAN. I want him back. Not only did he hire a Chase, Cameron and Foreman for himself, he actually did a House in 'All In'! And then got fired! Because his Cuddy is not Cuddy and he is not House.
Speaking of Cuddy. Best Cuddy scene of the season is the one at the end of '97 seconds': 'You employed her. You're responsible.' Because she trusted House, and she's not just talking about him, is she? She's talking about herself. While she has Season One-ish hair. She has been more lenient than ever this season, as if she's finally accepting the fact that she *does* enable him (3.23, 'Jerk' - Wilson/Cuddy conversation) and she's not quite sure what to do with that, and then House electrocutes himself and the patient dies and Cuddy holds him (herself) responsible. Hmm.
Death theme. Religion. It's been there before, but I like the new emphasis.
There's something different between House, Wilson, and Cuddy this season. Something different between them and something different about them and I can't quite put my finger to it, yet. But it's different. I need to think more about this. There will be meta later, I think.
ETA: Casting spoilers in comments!

Date: 2007-10-14 02:13 pm (UTC)WHAT? Really? OH FANDOM, what the fuck is wrong with you?! Seriously, I love 13. She may be my favourite out of all the candidates (excluding 6/9, who gets double points for being Kal Pen, lol). How can you not like her?? ;P
Re: everyone's favourite OT3... someone mentioned that Cuddy and Wilson have almost switched stances on how the deal with House. In S1, Wilson was the permissive one and Cuddy rode House's ass. Now Cuddy is the permissive one, and Wilson's trying something or another to get House to change.

That makes sense, although I still need to process things. Maybe rewatch an episode or three.
(I also just watched Laga Chunri Mein Daag. Old wine in a sparkly new bottle. But Rani Mukherjee, as always, is awesome.)

Date: 2007-10-14 06:37 pm (UTC)Kunal has a bit role, Abhishek even less. It's really about the women, which is a nice change. He *is* cute, though. Too cute, at places.

Date: 2007-10-14 09:21 pm (UTC)Summary? *sigh* Small town girls Rani and Konkona. Family fallen into bad times; dad is bitter and useless and even more bitter that he has no sons, mom runs the family with her meagre earnings; eldest daughter never finished her education (Rani) due to financial constraints. Circumstances take her to Bombay, where she, determined to find something to run her family, becomes a high profile escort. Family has money; Rani is sad. Then one day younger sister, now a working girl, comes to Bombay, and Drama ensues... Old wine, as I said. Abhishek is Prince Charming. He has a teeny-tiny part. It's basically Rani's movie, with Konkona and Jaya Bachchan on the side. And it's well-made. Just... predictable.
