Apparently there's going to be this 'private investigator' in a multi-episode arc who investigates... something in PPTH? *Who*, if he turns out to be popular, may become the lead of some kind of a spin-off? I do not care about spin-offs of any sort, but my initial reaction to this spoiler is NO. NO. Haven't we had this investigating thing already? *shudders*

I'll keep my fingers crossed, but PLEASE NO TRITTER AGAIN PLEASE PLEASE TPTB. YOU ALREADY HAVE A HUGE CAST AND ARE STRUGGLING TO FIND SPACE FOR THEM ALL, SO JUST NO. PLEASE.

ETA: But, on the other hand, as roga says - if it really is Sam Vimes (CRAZY AUS FTW), I will die happy. It could at least be a Houseverse version of Vimes (other than House, who already is Vimes)... OMG

Totally. I realise they've learnt to do arcs this season, and quite well, too, as far as I'm concerned, but this entire PI things is giving me nasty Tritter flashbacks. Please no.

Oh, no, most people hated the arc and the character. I did not feel either way for the character - but I disliked the way they handled House's Vicodin issues; I disliked the way they handled the legal issues; and most importantly, I hated the way they hit reset. We got some excellent eps post-Tritter, Classic House style, but it annoyed me all the same.

EXACTLY. Now, I'm being more optimistic about it since they've actually successfully done a character arc this season, but. Too many bad memories.

I am not excited about this spoiler at all. I'm in the "enough with adding characters" camp. I like the new fellows, but want to get to know them and want to delve into more character stuff with the ones we already know. This spoiler...yeah, I'm less than thrilled. But whatever. I hope this happens after all this finale stuff is cleared up, b/c I would hate to have something distract the writers/audience from the awesomely meaty stuff going on between characters now. But I'll watch even if this show turns into some dreadful form of fanfic, because I cannot tear myself away. LOL

Hmm, and I have a question, modly person. Do writers have to take all prompts literally? In other words, can the word "death" in a prompt be taken in a symbolic sense rather than a literal sense?

Hey, it's your prompt - what you do with it is up to you! As long as it fits, it doesn't really matter. (Actually, even if the story reads like it has nothing to do with the prompt, it's welcome, because sometimes we can't help ourselves, and what we're really about here is more Cuddyfic in fandom, period. The prompts are just there to get people started.) *g*
