CUDDY!!!!!!!!!!! I know it's just a tiny moment, but I'm so happy to see her.
"We should've closed the blinds." Why, whatever were you doing, House? *waggles eyebrows*
The House/Wilson scene is glorious. They're going to play this for comedy - as they should, because HOUSE NEEDS TO HOLD ON TO HIS MAN and that's COMEDY GOLD - but scenes like this point to the emotional undercurrent. And the show, I feel, is at its best when it combines drama with comedy.
W: I'm resigning. Maybe moving out of New Jersey, I don't know yet.
H: Okay. (slowly) That's an understandable reaction.
House is being supportive! Oh, House!
W: It's not a reaction, it's a decision. I'm writing Cuddy my resignation write now. I'm just back for the week to wrap up my clinical and administrative duties.
H: You of all people should know - this is Bereavement 101. You think that a change in venue -
Which is House for "Don't Leave Me!!!!". And in such a rational and supportive tone, too. I'm proud of him.
W: Well that spares me decades of psychoanalysis.
H: I'm not saying you're not in pain -
W: You're saying my pain's a cliche?
He didn't say that, Wilson! You're projecting! For once in his life House isn't mocking you. But you're too hurt to notice.
H: I'm saying that pain fades.
W: Yours did?
H: Physical pain is different.
W: I'd rather have my leg chopped off -
H: You haven't felt -
W: Neither have you.
Okay, wow. I cannot believe they're going there. "I'd rather have my leg chopped off" - I cannot believe they're going there.
