NPH and Jason Segel being adorable. Clearly there needs to be a HIMYM musical episode, possibly one with a return of Robin Sparkles.

I finally watched the last two acts of Dr. Horrible. I'm too tired to write a review (except maybe to say "Oh, Joss, you never change, do you?" and "ILU NPH!!!!"), but will someone please rec me Billy/Penny fic? [livejournal.com profile] roga?

And while we're at it, won't somebody write me a Dr.Horrible/Pushing Daisies crossover? Bonus points for having singing involved (because songs make EVERYTHING better).

I also finished the Temeraire books at a go (yes, this is what I've been doing instead of writing fic. what deadlines? *facepalm*), and again, too tired to write a review, but the series does get better with the later books. The fourth and the fifth, especially, were impressive, because of the dragons. I demand more dragons. And also Roland, who is awesome, and should have a series of her own.

the temeraire books really get better? Cause I never picked up the second, finding the hero of the first to be really, really, really boring gary stu. Should I reconsider?

Hmm. I think the second book is the worst of the lot, what with it featuring an interminable sea journey and not much of a plot and NOT ENOUGH DRAGONS dammit. It picks up after that, and I love the fourth and the fifth books in particular, because they feature a lot of dragons and tolerable amounts of Roland and Harcourt (but not enough). I felt Laurence was saved from the fate of a Stu thanks to his self-depracating irony, but he remains pretty much the same. Bumbling, honourable, and well, boring unless surrounded by the dragons (and Roland). Temeraire himself is a bit Stu-ish, but I find him too adorable to complain about the Stuishness.

Also, the fourth books does really interesting things with Africa.

I'm glad you think the Temeraire books improve, too - I must admit, while looking through reviews/comments on the fourth book, I got the impression I was one of a very few who'd loved it.

Haven't read the fifth, though, because it's $50 in bookstores here. Need to wait for the pb/library!

The hardcovers *are* expensive, and Harry Potter was the only series I was going to shell out that much money for. Thankfully, I got my hands on a friend's copy. *g*

People didn't like the fourth book? Why? I thought it did some really interesting things with Africa. I absolutely LOVED the increased role played by the dragons (MORE DRAGONS PLZ), as well as Harcourt and Roland (but not enough). Did people dislike the cliffhanger? The fifth book does interesting things with it - and that's all I'm going to say because I don't wish to spoil you.

I'm not sure why people didn't like the fourth one, to be honest. I just remember clicking on a discussion post on Novik's LJ and being surprised to find that quite a few people were being pretty negative. I loved it, especially Harcourt and the ending (and told her so, too!).

I have the biggest boycrush on NPH. He just needs to be singing and dancing and being AWESOME all the time.

A Barney/Robin musical number would have to be the greatest thing ever ever ever.

My crush on NPH has reached ridiculous proportions. RIDICULOUS. *sigh*

A Barney/Robin musical number would have to be the greatest thing ever ever ever.
