This day in shopping: Waists are lower. Florals with random sparkly things thrown in here and there are in. Some designer thought hoods with ethnic tops (sleeveless, too) would be a really bright idea. Miranda Priestley would NOT be pleased.
Yes, this is what I did all day. Everytime I'm home, my mother likes to drag us somewhere, generally using this opportunity (3 against 1) to buy my father some clothes. Then I came home and watched Three Stories, which is still awesome. The Sister appears to have become a true House/Cuddy shipper, because she keeps on making these flaily noises when they're on-screen (the same noises I make whenever Cuddy is on-screen) and says things like "I like Cuddy more. I mean, I'm not saying I don't like Stacy, but she can't come back!"
How was your Sunday?

entropy_comix, House/Iron Man x-over. House, Tony and Cuddy, with a bit of Tony/Cuddy. Hilarious, great voices and banter, and just generally shiny. Go read!

Date: 2008-08-18 05:34 am (UTC)And in Season Three she made him believe that he hadn't cured that patient, tried to get him to reduce his Vicodin intake, made him spend a day in the Clinic, treat her ex-marine date in Top Secret (I still can't make the heads or tails out of that episode)... If anything has changed about her in these three seasons is that she's a lot more likely to let him to whatever he wants, medically, without questioning him very much, whereas in S1 there would be lawyers, and you can't do this, I'm taking over this case. I was watching "Words and Deeds" the other day for research purposes, and there's a place where House says something along the lines of 'either I'm really pathetic, or you're beginning to trust me'. Or is she more open about showing it, after everything? Because, let's not forget, between S1 and S3.11 we have "Humpty Dumpty" and "All In", not to mention House's surprisingly decent behaviour over the baby arc.
I love House and I love Wilson, but Cuddy's been through a lot of crap, too. But I don't think people get that. And it's sad.
Because female characters can't possibly have development.
I just posted the masterlist and am too lazy to log out right now. ^^
You. Are Awesome. \0/ (We're... not on the masterlist. *facepalm* I'm still writing, I swear.)

Date: 2008-08-18 07:03 am (UTC)I didn't really think about that, but you're right. She's still kind of a hard-ass in season three. Which you would think people would like. Maybe the difference isn't in the way people see Cuddy directly, but in the way they see House - in season one it's, "lols, Cuddy 1 - House 0!" in Season Three it's, "OH NOES! Don't be mean to poor Housey Wousy!" I don't really know what goes on in the Collective Fandom mind. Not sure I want to, either.
either I'm really pathetic, or you're beginning to trust me
I don't remember it, (because I hate that episode violently and really, really don't ever want to watch it again if I don't have to) but that's such a great line. And so apt for their relationship, I think. Working relationship, anyway.
House's surprisingly decent behaviour over the baby arc
Decent for the first half, anyways. What always gets me about that, though, is the timeline (and how the author's didn't bother showing us half of it). Because if she had three implantations, and the last one ended in miscarriage, wouldn't that be around the time House was battling Tritter and generally being a reckless drug addict? I could be wrong, but for the latter half of her treatments/miscarriage, I can't really see House "being there" for her - in any respect. A little scene from the writers would have been way helpful. Grr.
We're... not on the masterlist.
That's cause we FAIL. A lot. I don't even think I'm going to finish my prompt. Ugh. (Speaking of, though - are you okay with the 'free for all' list of prompts idea? Combining unclaimed prompts from rounds one and two into one list, and just telling people that they're welcome to use them for inspiration, no claiming necessary, and all we ask is that they include the prompt in their fic info and post to cuddy_fest?)

Date: 2008-08-18 07:17 am (UTC)Heh. Me too. It's just a... bizarre episode. I like the exploration of House's health issues, but WTF was up with the dreams? Was House channeling one of Buffy's slayers for a moment? Is he secretly a vampire slayer? Is that why Riley was here?
Maybe the difference isn't in the way people see Cuddy directly, but in the way they see House - in season one it's, "lols, Cuddy 1 - House 0!" in Season Three it's, "OH NOES! Don't be mean to poor Housey Wousy!"
Sometimes I think they don't see Cuddy at all. They (the Collective Fandom Mind) have this impression of Cuddy in the pilot (and EVEN IN THE PILOT she basically states why she won't kick him out, why she trusts his decision, and there's this intriguing line of dialogue about Cuddy being afraid to make mistakes with patients), the "LOLZ" version, and anything other than a two-minute comic relief is 'soft'.
And so apt for their relationship, I think. Working relationship, anyway.
I watch the episode for Cuddy. I can't help it, she's got some wonderful scenes in it! I try not to think about the plot, and think about how wonderful Cuddy is and what a great friend she is and get generally mushy about her. I also ignore the ending and concentrate on the cute goodnights between House and Wilson. This strategy works marvels.
Oh, and in 3.23, we have the Wilson/Cuddy conversation about Cuddy being an enabler. Cuddy is all "I don't enable him!", and Wilson is, "yes you do!". Skip to S4 beginning, and Cuddy doing her best not to enable him and admitting that she does, at times, enable him. And then hiring Foreman. AM I THE ONLY PERSON SEEING THE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT HERE? (It feels good to vent.)
I can't really see House "being there" for her - in any respect
Oh, he wasn't *there* for her! He didn't blab it to the whole hospital and kept it to himself to torment her at will. That's surprisingly decent, coming from House. And yes, re. the timeline - the 'I'm not pregnant' lines over the first four episodes gain a whole new dimension post-3.09, don't they?
Speaking of, though - are you okay with the 'free for all' list of prompts idea? Combining unclaimed prompts from rounds one and two into one list, and just telling people that they're welcome to use them for inspiration, no claiming necessary, and all we ask is that they include the prompt in their fic info and post to cuddy_fest?
Ohh, like the porn battles! That's cool! Multiple people can claim same prompt, etc etc?
