I thought the House/Thirteen argument was a reference to House himself, and what he's received (and in his mind, quite randomly) in his life. The baby plotline reference wasn't nearly as obvious to me.
Chase's attitude is something that greatly intrigues me. I hope you're right, that it will come back into play, because it's quite the change from the third season, and there has to be a reason for it. I want to see that reason explored.
Although, now that I've thought about it, I'm not sure I completely agree with House's assessment, that almost dying changes nothing. I'd say that his experience with almost dying during his hospitalization for the infarction changed his life drastically. It set certain things in motion for major life changes, I think.
Oh, and I'd love to see more interactions of that nature between Wilson and Cameron. I think it was my favorite Cameron moment ever, actually.
