Apparently the Prime Minister went to the US and told Bush that the 'people of India deeply love' him. My response to it may be summed up by the following:

"We all know that Manmohan Singh loves Bush. But I don’t understand why he brought all of India into it."

Why on earth is he sucking up to Bush *now*? I mean, the man's so irrelevant that he's letting the Treasury Secretary run the country (if that's what you can call making panicked announcements of financial doom every weekend) until January.

He needs the nuclear deal passed. And he did get half of it done, too, because the House of Representatives voted in favour of the deal yesterday. There's the final vote in the Senate today, I believe.

Or maybe he really does love Bush, who knows? I just would like to be kept out of their romance, thanks. *g*
