POA in particular contains some of the best interpersonal dynamics and dialogue that JKR's ever written, IMO, with the Shrieking Shack confrontation between Lupin, Sirius, Snape, and Peter as her crown jewel. I could quote that scene at people all day to show how EPIC HP really is (Sirius is another one who's more EPIC than human, with his "THEN YOU SHOULD HAVE DIED! Died rather than betray your friends, as we would have done for you!").
I'm too braindead tonight to comment on the House/Wilson (I'll come back to it, I promise), but I had to say this before I got to bed: YES YES YES. Sirius *is* Epic, and he dies Epic too. The tragedy of Sirius/Remus is that Remus will always be human and one step behind, werewolf or no. (I also secretly heart Sirius/Snape hatesex, though I've rarely read one that's to my taste; good Snape/Lupin - another pairing I adore - is much easier to find.)
