I lost my purse (and the Very Important Things in it) in a library and spent an evening running about and investigating, and then, finally, in the police station, filing a missing complaint so that I can apply afresh for a variety of things. Watching the policemen at work was a little like watching Sergeant Colon at work: it's not that they don't try to help - it's just that they're not very good at it.

The night before G. and I had gone out to buy A's birthday cake (chocolate - awesome). We ran into a black man dressed head to toe in Rastafarian gear, Bob Marley on his t-shirt and on the multicoloured beret he was wearing. He was talking on the phone and had along with him, on a red leash, a pretty (mostly) black rabbit. A RABBIT.

I may have stared. The rabbit was very cute, and completely comfortable in spite of being in a crowded public place.

I figured out how to use bluetooth on my laptop last night. After two years.

I would've too, but I was dividing my attention between the rabbit and my friend G., who had chosen that moment to hijack my phone conversation with my mother and telling her a number of very dangerous 'your daughter has been [insert indiscretion here]' things - you know, just the kind of things mothers love to hear.

I feel so out of touch with technology like that, mostly because I haven't had a cell phone for about four years. I have no idea what's going on in that cell phone-Iphone-gadget world.

I never carry purses, because I can never keep track of them. =\

And, mmm, chocolate cake. Want. I've seen rabbits as pets before (well, I used to have rabbits as pets before) but I've never seen one on a leash. Was it the cute floppy-eared kind? Those are my favorites.

My commiserations on the purse, and especially on the stuff inside. I lost my ATM card last summer, while we were on holiday abroad, and it was just as inconvenient to be without it as it was to get a new one when we got home.

Congrats on figuring out the bluetooth thing. Maybe someday you can explain it to me...

I realised how dependent I am on my ATM card after I lost it. I'm having some money transferred to a friend's account so that I can use his card in the meantime - every other way is too much of a hassle!

Maybe someday you can explain it to me...

I usually am, too, but there are places. We collected data from a variety of different sources before coming to a conclusion about this one.

And, yeah. Stupid purse. I should not be allowed to handle Important Things like money and ATM cards.
