when the earth moved
Nov. 26th, 2007 03:00 pmI went to sleep at four in the morning. At 4.45, I woke up. The earth was moving, window panes were rattling and girls were screaming in an extremely obnoxious manner in the corridor. My roommate and I went outside, and followed everyone downstairs. It took a while for me to register that it was a minor earthquake. It stopped, after a while, and I went back to sleep, while people kept chattering in the corridor (and it was only because I was sleepy that I did not go out and strangle them). The boys seem to have slept through it (my friends, that is), except A, who said he was terrified because he had witnessed the terrible Kashmir quake of '05 and thought that something like that was going to happen again.
And now I shall return under my rock.
