Comment to this entry and I'll pick three of your fandoms. Then, update your journal and answer the following questions:
01: What got you into this fandom in the first place?
02: Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
03: Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?
04: Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
05: Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?
msgenevieve gave me House, BSG and Harry Potter.
House
01. I had heard about the show when it first came out, and was not particularly interested - I don't watch doctor shows, you see. After a year or so, I was channel-surfing, only to find that they were airing a spectacularly orange thing featuring Hugh Laurie, which was, in fact, the House pilot. I watched. I thought it was funny. I thought Hugh Laurie was disturbingly hot. I watched again next week, and thought about how much fun it would be to ship House with Wilson and Cuddy. I kept watching. And then when the first season was over, I resorted to the internets, because I needed more. Then fandom happened.
02. That's very difficult to say, isn't it? I don't really 'leave' fandoms, I just gain new ones and collect them like the shiny things they are. Who knows where I'll be after a couple of years?
03. Three Stories, Humpty Dumpty, Failure to Communicate, Act Your Age, Half-Wit, House's Head, Birthmarks. I'd have to rewatch S5 to decide on rest of the favourites, but the last three episodes will probably be right up there.
04. I write. I talk too much. I organize
cuddy_fest with
hihoplastic and
ijemanja.
05. Sure! Just ignore the crazy and the shipwars, and you'll find that it's actually kind of fun.
BSG
01. It's
jaybee65's fault. She insisted I watch it, and so I caught the mini on tv and fell in love.
02. Am I sufficiently 'in' the fandom to be 'out' of it? I don't know.
03. The miniseries, Kobol's Last Gleaming I & II, Downloaded, Exodus II
04. I occasionally write fic and talk about the show with my flist.
05. Yes, the fandom could certainly use some more good authors.
Harry Potter
01. Where it all started. I had just finished reading the first four books in a row and needed more, so I came online, looking for discussion boards and devouring all the speculation threads. Then I found fanfiction.net.
02. You can never, ever leave the HP fandom.
03. PoA, hands down.
04. I no longer write HP fic as such, but there are some WiPs I'd love to finish and some plotbunnies I'd like to pursue. I do continue read, however.
05. Ahahaha!
