Apr. 25th, 2010 01:58 pm+ This morning, at breakfast, a guy smiled at me and said, 'Hello, my mafia friend.' Now, I have a bazillion people in my FB Mafia Wars filter, and I have no idea who they are - to think one of them stays in the same building and knows my face is weird. I should have probably asked for his name, shouldn't I? Because I know I'll forget what he looks like (I already have) and not smile at him the next time I bump into him, and it'll be terribly rude.
+ OH, LOLEGEND OF THE SEEKER! HOW DO I LOVE THEE? LET ME COUNT THE WAYS. For a non-Cara/non-Kahlan/non-C/K episode, this was surprisingly awesome, and the credit goes entirely to Craig Parker being fabulous in two very different roles. Walter was adorable, and I'm so happy he got his happy ending with his boyfriend and his girlfriend. But more importantly, RAHL IS BACK, OMG. <33333
One may, of course, ask pertinent questions: like, what kind of an idiot plan involves allowing your arch-nemesis--the one you spent the entirety of the last season trying to kill--to COME BACK TO LIFE?
Never, ever change, show. ♥♥♥
+ Also, while my Seeker squee generally revolves around worshiping Cara and Kahlan, Darken Rahl is EXTREMELY hot, mmm.

Sorry, Richard. Even your new!improved!hero!hair doesn't cut it anymore.
+ ALSO, DID YOU SEE THOSE SIGNIFICANT GLANCES BEING EXCHANGED BETWEEN CARA AND RAHL? I don't like Cara/Rahl at all, because he was her lord and master and could have--and most certainly did--commanded her to anything, but the ship is pretty much canon (remember the touching in 1.22?) and I WANT BACKSTORY NAO PLZ.Also, Kahlan/Rahl is kinda hot.
+ OMG, HOW DO THEIR FIGHT SEQUENCES GET EVEN MOAR OVER-THE-TOP WITH EVERY PASSING EPISODE? THE LIGHTNING, THE NINZA!SISTERS OF THE DARK, THE RETURN OF THE ROCK GUITAR...
+ Cara's faaaaace. ♥
+ I just hope they don't reform Rahl. He's very evidently going to kill all the Nightwisp in the next episode (;_;) and make Kahlan very angry, and I *don't* want him to have a change of heart like Daddy Panis. If Rahl wants to save the world, it better be because he wants to live in it.
+ Then I watched Dr. Who, and okay, I give: the Weeping Angels are scary. I say this as someone who *hasn't* met them before and is very unsuitable for horror in general, because I seldom get scared. And it's a two-parter! Eeeek! Allow Walter to sum it up:

Eeeek!
Meanwhile, I continue to heart Amy and Eleven continues to remind me of NPH in some ways. Also, is River Song evil? What does Eleven not know? What did she inject Amy with? Questions, questions!

Date: 2010-04-26 03:38 am (UTC)Um, I kind of find Kahlan/Rahl *really* appealing. I'm not sure I want to know what that says about me.

Date: 2010-04-26 05:22 am (UTC)I also find Kahlan/Rahl EXTREMELY appealing. In part, I think, it's because I find Craig Parker extremely attractive, and, well, my thoughts on Bridget Regan are well-documented and need not be repeated (one word: GUH). The two of them also have a smouldering chemistry - not quite as hot as Cara & Kahlan, but hot enough. But more importantly, all throughout S1, Kahlan was the only person Rahl was really afraid of (whereas he always saw Richard as something of a joke). And even though he can no longer to be confessed now, she is still a formidable enemy. And I just find the entire storyline in 1.22 really scary/compelling, the way he insists on having her CONSENT, the way she goes ahead with it and lives with him, with her head held high... It's deeply disturbing. But I like it. 1.22 is also why I can never see Richard in pairings other than Richard/Kahlan (mayyybe Richard/Nicci, now), but can totally buy any Kahlan pairing under the sun.

Yes, it was the insisting on consent part that made it creepy-yet-weirdly-compelling. I kind of hoped on some level that she'd fall for him! That's just bad and wrong, I know, but....
And even though he can no longer to be confessed now
Which means, ironically, he's the only person she could be with without harming!

Date: 2010-04-26 06:22 pm (UTC)It's the consent part that makes it really work, I think. UNLIKE Cara/Rahl, who could not have said no to Rahl even if she had wanted to. And while I love the idea of Cara ordering people around, the idea of Cara being ordered makes my heart hurt.
Which means, ironically, he's the only person she could be with without harming!
Eek, that's so true! In my head, she can totally be with Cara after they figure out what to do with her hands. Or perhaps it's a bit like Angel's 'perfect happiness' with Buffy - since there is no question One Twu Wuv with Cara (unlike Richard/Kahlan), Kahlan can be in enough control of her magic...
