I'm glad I convinced you to give it a try! The ick factor is very strong on Fringe - the showrunners seem to delight in it, which means a squeamish viewer like me has to frequently turn away. But there's a certain charm to the crazy science, like a 50s B-movie (to quote hibernate) or a comic book that has 'scienfic' happenings like 'anti-life equations' and 'miracle machines'. And, of course, Olivia. She really is fabulous.
If you're in the US, the show is available on Hulu as far as I know. For everywhere else, there's always *cough*othermeans*cough*.
