I continue to be underwhelmed by Nikita. I would be the last person to complain about reboots, but even held in its own merit, the two episodes so far haven't been spectacular. Nikita was given a bit more personality, which I approve of; if the title character is a cardboard cutout, your show isn't going to get very far.

+ I liked Amanda more in this episode, possibly because she tortured someone and was visibly colder except in the Wardrobe, when she was being Nice to Alex. For a moment I thought she was going to give Alex The Red Dress—which was hanging in the middle, in case you guys didn't notice—but I suppose they didn't want to copy/paste.

+ Michael, meanwhile, is demoted from 'passable' to 'cringeworthy.' I don't know what the actor is trying to achieve with his odd facial contortions, but they aren't working. What is worse, he comes off as incompetent, which is not endearing his character to me. I'm not looking forward to the inevitable Michael/Nikita.

+ Birkoff needs a shave and wash, but Shadownet made me giggle. A LOT.

+ Percy is Ever So Evil. Yawn. Moral complexity, where you at?

+ I'm not looking forward to Thom/Jaden/Alex love triangle, either. Here's hoping that doesn't happen.

+ The worst part, however, is WHY is Section One the Division so incompetent?

- WHY would anyone in their right mind send an untrained operative to a valentine mission mission? Is this their attempt to recreate the Nikita vs. Paul dynamic? It isn't working, because Alex and Percy have had minimum interaction (have they interacted at all?), and also because Percy lacks charisma.

- WHY would anyone in their right mind send an untrained operative to a mission without telling them anything about it? 'Withholding information' is not the same as 'here, dress prettily and go hang out this man without anything to defend yourself, just don't ask why.'

+ Please tell me they have more plot than 'Nikita takes down Division, one mission at a time'? Because 'taking down' an organization like the Division would require organizational strength that two women cannot possibly have. Who is backing Nikita? Does she have other agents as well? Where do the funds come from? How does she manage to obtain Oracle level of information with just a tiny laptop? (Oracle, at least, has a setup that would put the Batcomputer to shame; also she's a superhero.) Or is this another case of handwavium? I'm good at the art of handwaving, but you have to capture my interest, show. Give me something to work with. Tell me why Nikita's insane one-woman mission to bring down Division is feasible (or not).

+ The Nikita&Alex backstory, however, caught my interest. 'Her fairy godmother' was fabulous.
I'm going to continue to watch, because I'm intrigued by Nikita and Alex's story. Meanwhile, I hope they come up with something more interesting in the next episode.

Hellcats 1.02 was quite charming. Fine, you can laugh at me, but I really do like Ashley Tisdale's character. The actor reminds me of SMG in the early seasons of BTVS, and the character is adorable. I'm also ashamed to admit that I'm rooting for Coach/Probably-A-Douche Football Coach simply because my lingering dislike for Robin Wood (from Buffy) seems to have transferred onto this completely different character being played by the same actor. *facepalm*

OLIVIA, MY SUPERHERO. ♥ ♥ ♥

I continue to be intrigued by H.G. Wells. Today I spent a lot of time hunting down the Wells books I haven't read on Project Gutenberg and wondering whether HG ever hung out with Julia Verne, or if she will take Myka and Pete along with her when she builds that Time Machine and accidentally ends up in, I don't know, ancient Egypt. Or a world with dinosaurs. Or perhaps a distant apocalyptic future, I'd like that too. Like I said, she makes my inner twelve year old ridiculously squeeful.
