swatkat1. This has been doing the rounds in FB for the last couple of days, and it makes me smile every time I hear it - Jingle Bells, the Punjabi edition.
2. Last evening we had guests over - much fun was had and I ate too much. I think I'm going to be really homesick when I leave. Also, later I dreamed I was at a beautiful, picturesque place with a beautiful, picturesque lake where beautiful, picturesque things were happening, but every time I tried to take a photo, it was either too late or the shot came out terrible.
3. Some great Yuletide stuff I've been reading:
Oglaf
Four Seasons: Lesbian Mercenary/Snow Queen. Right, so if you haven't read Oglaf or know who the Lesbian Mercenary is, I insist you go over and read it at once. It's a delightfully porny fantasy webcomic, and the Lesbian Mercenary's storylines are: Snow Queen, Meltwater, Reward, Solstice (all of these except Reward are more than a page long - just click 'next page'; NSFW). This story is just a perfect, perfect exploration of the adventures of the Lesbian Mercenary post-Meltwater.
"weaker" sex: Kronar's Son. This is Kronar's Son (NSFW), and you can trust Yuletide to produce a story that fleshes something like this out and produces a thoughtful, lovely story out of it.
Honor and Glory: Kronar's Son. Kronar's son is a woman, but he isn't going to let that stop him from anything. Featuring a delightful cameo by the Lesbian Mercenary.
Making Out Like Bandits: Lesbian Mercenary/Seductive Thief. This is Seductive Thief (NSFW), and this story is just a fun romp featuring the two.
Fringe:
everything in its right place: This is Altstrid's story, and I don't have words for how much I love it: In the alternate universe, Astrid notices some changes in Agent Dunham.
The Shape of a Sooner State: Olivia and Altlivia, walking a mile in each others' shoes, and the aftermath.
13 ways of looking at a betrayal: Olivia, in the aftermath of 'Entrada'. She makes my heart hurt, guys.
Birds of Prey:
Fighting Words: Babs and Dinah train in the aftermath of 'Of Like Minds' (the one where Savant kidnaps Dinah). The banter is just lovely, and of course Dinah wouldn't let something like three broken limbs to deter her.
Batwoman:
The Weight of Unsteady Things: Kate/Renee. Kate and Renee, all the ways they do and do not fit together. <33
Batgirl:
Of Shopping, Sleuths and Sharpies: Steph and Wendy go shopping. Wendy would rather not. Cute little thing, with great banter.
Warehouse 13:
Give Us Those Nice Bright Colours: Myka/HG. In which Myka will save HG, whether HG wants to be saved or not. Lovely, and bittersweet.
ETA: Today's Oglaf also features the Lesbian Mercenary: Ravine (NSFW). \0/
I won't lie, I'm having thoughts about Cara the Mord'Sith Mercenary now. It'd be absolutely brilliant.
ETA 2: And one non-YT story you should read at once: As Soon As I am Able byallothi, Merlin, Gwen/Morgana: Superhero AU. I repeat, superhero AU, and Morgana (also Le Fay, protector of Camelotatham) at her spoilt, self-absorbed superhero best.
