+ Just when everyone thought David E. Kelley's WW show wasn't happening after all, NBC has ordered a pilot. I'm going to be cautiously optimistic about this, I can't help myself! \0/

+ I watched Fringe, and now I want to write a love letter to Anna Torv's expressions in this episode. Although, to be very honest, all my Fringe episode reactions are love letters to Anna Torv in some way or the other. I'm not even ashamed. The awkwardness between her and Peter, the barely-concealed anger and despair, the haunted expression in her eyes, the way she couldn't help but ask why it was his favourite book, even after everything. ♥_♥

The only thing in current Fringe-canon that's not working for me is Peter/Olivia. I've tried, I have, but there's something about the way the show writes Peter, the way Josh Jackson plays him. I liked his quiet desperation in this episode (I generally love the understated way that Josh Jackson plays Peter), but I still don't buy the relationship as such, even if I buy the depth of Olivia's feelings and Peter's predicament now. I try believing in it, and my brain points to things like Peter not taking his hand out of his stupid pocket and Peter liking it when Altlivia was Olivia, Peter smiling while referring to Altlivia and how easy it was to be with her. I don't know if this is what the effect they want, if they are telling us the story of all the ways Peter and Olivia do not work. That's a story I could get behind, but I'm not sure that's the story they want to tell.

It doesn't help that the show, after a point, doesn't really care about Peter as a character beyond the way he relates to Walter and Olivia. This episode, once again, made this very clear, when Peter was the damsel in distress, again, and Olivia saved his life, again. And then it turned out that it was All About Walter, and his ability to let Peter go, as opposed to Peter coming to terms with his Special Destiny. And I'm… slightly ashamed to admit that I'm A-OKAY with that, except that it's a slight hindrance when it comes to shipping it.

Also, was that foreshadowing? About a BABY? Yikes!

I'm glad that this was a Walter episode, because while I don't love him as much as I love Olivia, WHO IS THE BESTEST AND MY FAVOURITE, I love him A LOT, and I did get a little teary-eyed in his scenes with Roscoe—another father who lost his son, another broken genius, all the ways they connected.

Also, MULTIPLE FUTURES. It's like the show KNOWS what I like. ♥ Now, can Olivia start getting her superpowers already?

It's good to know that the episode did pretty well on the Friday slot. Here's hoping for good things.

+ It's past 3. I should probably sleep.
