Oh Captain, my Captain

* GUYS, CAN WE TALK ABOUT LIN BEI FONG? AND HOW AWESOME SHE IS? AND HOW SHE SWOOPED IN TO SAVE KORRA (TWICE)? AND HOW SHE WAS GOING TO NEARLY CLIMB ON TO AMON'S AIRSHIP BECAUSE SHE HAS PLAYED INTO HIS HANDS AND CHIEF LIN BEI FONG DOES NOT ACCEPT DEFEAT SO EASILY?
This, ladies and gentlemen, is why the previous episode was so lighthearted. Because episode four was dark as fuck and this, again, is pretty damn dark (TAHNO!), and MY HEART CANNOT HANDLE ALL OF IT AT ONCE.
I'm vastly amused by Lin/Tenzin being canon - I never get these things right! I do not believe for a second that Lin's abrasive nature is because she got her heart ~broken by Tenzin. As Tenzin himself makes it very clear, she has always been 'challenging' and brash, regardless of Korra's teeny interpretation of her lingering secret feelings for Tenzin. Lin and Tenzin do not clash just because of their history - it's pretty evident that Tenzin is a cautious pacifist, and Lin is the very opposite. I imagine their positions of power require them to butt heads frequently.
I'm glad, though, that Korra and Lin got to work together a little bit - they're going to do this a lot more in the future, and you know they're going to get along. Have I ever mentioned how much I ADORE ~grudging admiration blossoming into full-blown respect as a trope?
* Also, FLASHBACK! I love that Lin and Aang got along very well, but TELL US MORE ABOUT TOPH AND SOKKA! They're obviously saving it up for a big reveal, but I WANT TO KNOW!
* I'm curious as to what Amon was doing in a place that looked like the Sato Industries, and what that has to do with the industrial production of chi blockers. I also want to know where Asami and Sato disappeared to during the attack.
* I repeat, how did Aang grow to be so hot?
* PABUUUUU *___*
* Korra/Lin Y/Y?
And in conclusion:

(from here)
ETA: Is it just me, or does Korra really prefer firebending in case of combat?
