We need to talk about Artie

swatkatHG!!!!!!! Back with a bang, and smart as ever. I cannot stop gushing over just how smart she is, okay? It took her a moment to figure out what everybody else is trying to make sense of even now, and of course she told Mrs. Frederic -- the combined force of HG + Mrs. F is downright scary. It might also explain the white strand in Mrs. F's hair and why she's decided to train Claudia right now. However, show:

I am, however, tickled by the increasing amount of HG/Artie parallels, down to the 'we made a good team' with Dr. Calder (what do you mean HG/Myka isn't a canon pairing?), and am happy to note that I was right about Artie's sekrit phonecall being to HG. The parallels don't bode well for Artie, but then I've grown very fond of the 'Artie IS the big evil' theory. He and Helena have similar less-than-stellar pasts, and as Myka reminded us, the Warehouse has its way of turning its agents crazy. (I have always loved that sense of history about the Warehouse.)
I still can't tell what Myka's emotional arc this season is. There have been various moments of her being compassionate and willing to consider different points of view and why people might do evil(ish) things -- which I have, naturally, read as love letters to HG -- but what is it leading to? I want to know!

Date: 2012-09-13 06:41 pm (UTC)While I wouldn't object to HG having a bit of manpain every now and then, I love that she's taken Myka's words to heart and is no longer being apologetic but doing her best to save the day with her enormous brain and SCIENCE. <3 Just thinking about it makes me want to draw sparkly hearts around her.
