I've just realised
Jun. 10th, 2005 02:32 pmThere's only one thing that's worse than being stuck in one of those interminably dreary shopping malls due to rain – actually having to shop in there. I wouldn't have come, but Dear Cousin who leaves country tonight to join her husband in the UK wanted to shop for one last time, and I couldn't say no. And now it's raining (which is A Good Thing, even if it's only a thunderstorm, because we're literally burning in here, and there's no sign whatsoever of the freaking monsoon winds), and now I'm stuck in here for eternity. Flashy American Brand Endorsed By Celebrities! Flashier American Brand Endorsed By Celebrities! Flashiest American Brand Endorsed By Celebrities! (and all of them selling clothes of the type that no sane person would go around wearing in this heat. if they could afford it, that is.) The Tea Junction – let at us rob you while we pretend to be all cool and ethnic and alternative! Pizza Hut, with special dancing waiters at your service! Yet Another Flashy American Brand! Flashy Local Brand – abandon those Filthy Capitalists and shop from us! Designerwear! More Designerwear! Even More Designerwear!
On the plus side though, I get to surf the net.
Can I just say how much I've missed you all? I've glanced through the flist – seems like everyone has been writing fic and talking about interesting things, which, alas, I have no time to read right now. And I'm not even looking at
metafandom or
daily_snitch or
hogwarts_today, because then I'll be sure to find something interesting to read and never get out of this place.
I'm fine. We haven't moved yet, but will be doing so soon. On the 25th, I think. Which is also a good thing, because otherwise I might just have to go and murder the landlady. Dad is complaining a bit, because he thinks the house is small (no it isn't – he's just scared about moving to a new place, even if it's only a couple of miles away), and Sister is whining because "we'll be moving away from the mall!!!!", but really, I would rather stay under a tree than stay in this place anymore.
I've also been re-watching Buffy S1, this time with more attention to the storyline, and I know why I couldn't get into the show at first – the first season is quite weak compared to the fabulousness that follows. Of course, now that I like the characters and know what's going to happen in the future, I can sit back and enjoy the cuteness that are the Core Four. And Cordy, too. So. Cute. *g* And I think I'm getting to like Buffy&Willow&Xander almost as much I love the Trio, which is saying something.
Am also planning to re-read OotP again, so expect a lot of HP talk when I'm back. Catch ya'll later. *g*

And cute!wooden!Angel. *g*
Oh yes! I became hooked on Buffy when it was first released in Australia in the non-ratings period in 1997. I cannot explain the sheer joy of watching "Angel" and discovering at the same time as Buffy that Angel was a vampire. *squees at the memory*
