I'll Be Back
Jan. 22nd, 2004 10:17 amI'll be gone for a couple of days because I'll be visiting my father's aunt. I do hope that I have plenty to catch up to when I come back on the 27th.
Also, I think it's high time someone started shipping George and Adrian. I mean, come on - Michael and Nikita have the HRs, Paul and Madeline have the TRs (and the closet TRs), even Birkoff had a few people shipping him with Gail/Nikita/Mary Sue. So how come poor George and Adrian have no one to ship them? You want angst, they have it. You want evil, they have it. What else do you need? Won't someone think of poor George and Adrian?
What do you think of my new personal icon? *eg*

I confess...
Date: 2004-01-22 08:52 pm (UTC)It worked. LOL.
Seriously though, I suppose I'm a closet G/A shipper in addition to being a TR. I'm not sure if there's even a name for that: GR, for Geriatric Romantics? ;-)
Adrian and George have fairly substantial roles in the Section-backstory WIP I've been working on forever, and I've decided to beef them up even more when I finish the first draft and go back to edit and rework. But there, they are part of a large cast -- one of these days I should do a vignette just about them. They're fantastically rich characters, and I adore both of them.
Just when those therapy sessions were paying off...

Actually, they were fairly amusing and I've often thought you should have kept them so as to inflict them upon others.

Geriatric Romantics. Sounds good. Shall we keep it then? *g*

Yes, especially Adrian. She fascinates me because of the power she was wielded in Section/Centre/Oversight back then. Only a person with a tremendous strength of character could lose all that power, not go insane, and actually plan to strike back.

I am also a fan of Adrian and George.
Date: 2004-01-23 02:01 am (UTC)I thought they were both delightful in the series and really wished TPTB had done a little more with those characters.
And JayBee, I would love a A/G history piece. hehehehehe

IMO, George had the potential to become a really good SOTW - far better than the one we got to see in S3 and S4.

Not so secretly...

Heh heh heh
Date: 2004-01-26 10:04 am (UTC)And I'm sure one of these nice TR gals will write you some George/Adrian goodness. I'd like to read that myself, actually. *g*

I hope so. See, this is why I love the HP fandom (most of the times, anyway). From the almost-canon Ron/Hermione (please don't do it, JKR) to the mind-boggling Peeves/Anyone - you name a pairing, you have it. *eg*

How nasty of you Gen.

You know perfectly well there are no nice TRs.
well..
Date: 2004-01-29 10:54 am (UTC)I most definitely like the icon. George and Adrian I'm not so sure about (having in a past life worked with geriatrics the visual imagery is a bit...ummm...'batteries not required'). LOL.

Date: 2004-01-29 04:56 pm (UTC)Yes, the 'visual imagery' is rather stunning, isn't it? ;)
Nice to see you here. *g*
