"Files. Oh, yes. There, on the table. "

"Everything is in there?"

"Of course… ahh, that feels great."

"And did anyone see you?"

"See? No… mmm… don't stop. No. No one saw me. I had to sneak in, of course, but there was no one around."

"Hmm."

"So, what do I get for getting you what you wanted? It was a big risk, you know. I think I'll need something special… Why are you looking like that? What's wrong? Hey, look at me. What's that? NO…"

"I'm sorry."

Yule Ball night. Walking down the corridor arm-in-arm with Lily, James Potter knows he can't be happier. And he can't resist when he catches Snape sulking in a corner.

"Don't…"

"Hello, Severus," he doesn't let Lily finish.

Snape turns; James relishes the look of hatred on his ugly face.

"Didn't see you dancing. Didn't have a partner? Lily could've fixed you up with one of her friends," he says genially. James watches as Snape's face grows paler; he glances at Lily but doesn't speak.

"Please, let's go," Lily pulls at his arm, and James has to yield.

"Good Night." Snivellus.

Oh! I like them both! I've been avoiding the LFN drabbles - it's too tempting and distracts me from what I'm trying (emphasis: trying) to work on. But that one was terrific! And I really enjoyed the HP one too: personally, I really like the fanon that Snape was attracted to Lily and that exacerbated his hatred of James....

Yes, me too. And if she continues to portray James in the same way in the next two books, I'll probably start shipping Snape/Lily. *g*

After reading OotP (aka "James really was an Idiot"), I definitely felt a lot more pro-Snape than I ever had, lol!

And Sirius? Jeez, by the time the book ended I could have cared less about his fate, he was annoying me that much. *g*

I've always been pro-Snape, and OotP just increased that feeling. And I keep wondering, if James such a jerk (and not in a good way like Michael *g*), then how did an intelligent woman like Lily put up with him? Hmm. Maybe there's a lot more to James. Not that it makes me like him any better.

And Sirius? Jeez, by the time the book ended I could have cared less about his fate, he was annoying me that much. *g*

Exactly. IMO, his recklessness brought about his death - and somehow I can't feel sympathetic towards him at all. Which makes my HP fic reading a bit difficult because according to fanon, Lupin belongs to Sirius. *g*

There's no squick factor for me. I just like Harry/Hermione. I'm a very monogamous shipper, you know.

you don't get to read any of the good fics unless you're willing to read different pairings. And good het is almost impossible to find in the HP fandom. *sigh*

Personally, I'd like it best if the three of them just remained friends. My second preference is of course, Harry/Hermione. But it looks like JKR is heading in the Ron/Hermione direction.
