swatkatWatched that Lost ep. You know, *that* ep in S1 – the one in which the Death occurs.
That hurt.
See, Boone was pretty. I like Boone. And I don't *like* that he had to die (which is kinda obvious). But you know what I HATE? That he had to die like this. That the first ep – the one in which he gets hurt – is not about him, but about Locke. *Locke's* past, *Locke's* issues, *Locke's* need to feel whole again. And that the second ep – the one in which he *dies* – is not about him either, but about *Jack* and his Hero Complex. Boone has to be saved because *Jack* needs to play hero, *Jack* needs to 'fix' things. What about BOONE? Where is HIS story? Why did HE have to die?
Yes, that hurt.
To be fair to Jack, he did try. I almost forgave him for doing so much to save Boone. Almost, because later it turned out that it was more about HIM than about Boone. I mean, even his *bloodgroup* is about his Hero Issues (blood->life->universal donor->Super!Jack will give his life to save the world). *headdesk*
Shannon's reaction hurt even more. And yes, I know – shameless spoiler h0r that I am. It's not fair. I liked her from the *first* ep. It's just not fair.
The Superbaby is born. Yay… or not. *yawn*
Birth/death juxtaposition, circle of life, the island as Life, blah blah blah. A little subtleness with the symbolism would be good.
Locke/Locke's dad/kidney episode | Locke/Boone/plane episode. Yes, there's definitely some father/son coding there. I wonder how this will play out for Locke.
Aw, Jin. And Sun. I heart them both.
