lirannutian tagged me for the username meme, and I'd almost forgotten about it until I saw fernwithy do it, so here goes:

I'm Swatkat because it's a nickname that people sometimes use for me (because it goes with my name, as you know) and because I quite like it. The SWATKats was a show that used to air on Cartoon Network - still does, I think - about superpowered cats who fought crime. I would watch it religiously every afternoon after coming home from school (mostly because there was nothing else to watch. it wasn't bad, though). I had to use 24 because there's some moron who's already taken swatkat and hasn't bothered to update his LJ since 2001. I picked 24 because it's a pretty number, because my birthday's on it and somehow that's supposed to be really really lucky for me although I'm not sure why (my mother says so. who knows?) and because if you read it backwards it's 42, which is also a very cool number as it's the answer to everything.

You know, I have always loved your user name. Not only do I like SWATkats when I catch it on cable, it reminds of an even old tv show called Top Cat. I always sing along to the theme tune if I happen to catch it, and now I sometimes sing Swatkat instead of Top Cat just to amuse myself.

I LOVED Top Cat. I would watch it every day and tell my adorable and very dumb cat (the one I had that time, that is. he was the sweetest, gentlest, dumbest cat I've ever had) to learn something from him. I can't remember what the tune was like, though.

A lot of my favourite childhood cartoons don't stand the test of time, but Top Cat certainly does. *g*
