Really? I could see James Marsters doing the youngish, weary, alcoholic we first meet... tired and snarky and mostly good at running and passing out, with flashes of wit and sympathy, especially as he looks older and tireder now than he did ten years ago when Spikes blond locks first gave fangirls the tremums.

Of course - I haven't seen the later seasons of Buffy yet, when I gather he turned into a serious woobie - but, then, so does Sam, sort of. ;-)

Now that's a good choice! He's still not my ideal Vimes, somehow, but way better than James Marsters. Waaay better!
