Jun. 9th, 2007 10:32 pmFrom House 3.16, Top Secret:
CAMERON: (with a completely straight face) All right already, we confess. You caught us, we snuck into one of the sleep lab rooms to have sex, we shouldn't have done it while we were supposed to be working and we're sorry, now can we move on?
CHASE: *is shocked*
FOREMAN: Ahahaha!
FOREMAN: House would do Wilson before you'd do Chase. (still smiling)
CAMERON: No, you would do House AND Wilson before I do Chase. Now can we get back to work?
CHASE: (clearly horrified by the turn this discussion has taken) She did me once!
FOREMAN: She was stoned! *laughs some more*
*So* much, *so much* Duckling love in this scene. Srsly. Foreman going 'ahahaha' at the thought of Cameron sleeping with Chase. Cameron, all straight-faced and serious - demonstrating once and for all who wears the pants in the relationship. Not to mention the fact that for all Chase's adventures in BDSM, *she's* the adventerous Duckling, and not Chase. And Chase, oh Chase - his expression of hurt manly pride when he says 'She did me once'? That's it, that seals it - he's my favourite Duckling from now on. *draws hearts around him*
Also, the wink at the House/Wilson fans! And the foreshadowing of House/Wilson/Foreman, which, as
plazmah pointed out, is one of THE ships in the finale!
Yes, I'm obsessively watching S3. There will be more squeeing later on.

Date: 2007-06-10 03:18 pm (UTC)The finale was SO House/Wilson/Foreman. Wilson was all: "Let's all
sleepwork together as one big happy family." ;)no subject

I've never liked Cameron. I intensely disliked her in the first season, especially after the blackmail for date thing and she hasn't been able to win me over since then. She has moments in which she's awesome, but generally speaking, she annoys me. Thee's also the matter of the writing being all over the place for her this season. Every week, it felt like we were watching a new incarnation of Cameron so that it felt less of "Oooh, Cameron's doing something cool in Episode XYZ" and more like "Oooh, look! Cameron is channeling Cuddy/Stacy/Wilson/Steve McQueen right now because the writers have absolutely no idea which personality they want to give her!"

I absolutely agree. Obviously, I enjoyed Cuddy's reaction, but that didn't really give us new information whereas Chase's reaction to House's impending death showed us how he really felt. I'm sure there are people who would argue that this wasn't new information either, but it showed us the extent of how much he cared about House, which I thought was fabulous. It also reminded me a lot of "The Mistake" in S2. The scene on the balcony where Chase finds out that House knew about his father's cancer is oddly poignant and shows that House does care about him (yeah, House is a secret-keeper, but only when it matters and I think he kept that particular secret more to protect Chase than for Chase's dad). I also completely bought that House fired Chase in the finale because he thought that he was good enough to branch out into the big bad world of diagnostics on his own. Of the three, I think he's most qualified to spread his wings and fly.

Hey, it's cool to go against the norm. I'm sure there are others who agree with you, but since that was one of the (if not the) first ep of the show I saw, my reaction was two parts WTF and one part "HAH! House is totally gonna make her cry!"

Yes, exactly. Both Wilson and Cuddy's reactions were expected, because we *know* what they'll do for House, no matter how much of a bastard he is to them in return. But Chase... It was adorable. As was Foreman's 'I like you', and Cameron's syringe trick (a definite echo of the Cameron, I love you scene in S2). And also, I agree about House protecting Chase, and House firing him because he's the one who's most ready, and the one who's *most* unwilling to go. Chase has consistently been the smartest Duckling this season, but he clearly isn't willing to take the step - quite possibly because he isn't aware that he's ready. Hmm. I wonder if there's House/Chase that deals with this mentor/trainee aspect of their relationship?
I was very lucky to catch House on the very first day they aired it - by the time we had 'Love Hurts', I had already decided that I like Cameron. *g*

Date: 2007-06-11 03:16 pm (UTC)Absolutely. Though, it completely broke my heart when he told Cameron that getting this job with House was the best thing that happened to him. Then he paused and tried to convince himself that maybe getting firing was good too. Like House, Chase kind of has no one either (actually, he might be more alone since House at least has Wilson and Cuddy to bug). Parents? Dead. Friends? None that we've ever met other than the cottages and Foreman claims to hate him. Now he has Cameron, but other than that, we know absolutely nothing about what Chase does when he goes home.
Poor Chase! He's such a woobie.

Date: 2007-06-11 03:29 pm (UTC)Mine too. I want his relationship with Cameron to be a good thing for him, just for that. *pets w00bie Chase*
Maybe Cuddy will give him that diagnostics job she was offering Foreman next season? He certainly is the most deserving candidate. More than Foreman, who isn't ready, and who really is more like Cuddy than he is like House, jerkiness notwithstanding.
