MOTHER: Your jeans is dirty.
SWATKAT: (unpacks) Yes, a little. It has been raining.
MOTHER: And where are all your clothes?
SWATKAT: (unpacks) Brought whatever I could carry. Also, these need washing.
MOTHER: ...

SISTER: Ooh, shiny things!
SWATKAT: Pretty, isn't it? Bought it yesterday.
SISTER: Can I have it?

MOTHER: Why are there so many books?
SWATKAT: You can sell them if you wish to.

COWARDLY DOG: (follows, while maintaining a safe distance)

Whee! Isn't that just going to be worth the wait? ;)

Don't suppose you'd have a fish curry recipe to share, would you? I'm in the mood for something new...

I'm no cook, as you know, but this (http://www.indianfoodforever.com/bengali/macher-jhol.html) is the quintessential fish curry of these parts, as is this (http://www.indianfoodforever.com/bengali/bengali-fish-curry.html). This (http://bongcookbook.blogspot.com/2006/11/chingri-macher-malaikari.html) is a wonderful, wonderful prawn dish, if done well, easily one of my favourites. Ooh, and here's a recipe for fish in yoghurt sauce, which is *wonderful*: here (http://bongcookbook.blogspot.com/2006/12/fishy-fishy-bong-bong-or-doi-maach.html).

Note: any of the above *must* be eaten with white rice. Anything else is heresy.

I wonder if you get hilsa in those parts... Do you have a Bangladeshi store nearby?

Err, quite possibly, we have pretty much everything here.

I'd not heard of hilsa so had to go google it -- do they dry it, or something?

A Bangladeshi store would be a nice place to look for fish. Hilsa is made of awesome, and can be eaten fried, or smoked, or curry with mustard sauce... *mouth waters* It is a very special fish, and held in the highest esteem in this part of the world.
