OMG SHOW
First, a complaint. SIX. I WANT MORE SIX. It's entirely possible they're saving up her (their) storyline for the next half, but dammit, I WANT MORE SIX. NOT ENOUGH SIX.
Okay, another complaint: why is Kara suddenly sane now? I love, I LOVE that she is, and that she's stepped up to the task - but why? Where is all the crazy gone? See, Leland Obama's arc (we guffawed when he started speaking about 'change'; srsly, Ron Moore) makes perfect sense, but couldn't they have squeezed in a leeetle bit of Kara instead of going on and on about Romo Lampkin and his head!cat?
That said. OMG THEY REACHED EARTH. There was happy music, hugging in the CIC and Lee jumping on tables! They're DOOMED, I'm telling you. DOOMED. BECAUSE EARTH IS A NUCLEAR WASTELAND. OMG! (And Lee clearly wanted to hug Daddy, but Roslin was taking up all his space.
I really liked Lee in an episode after a very long time (the show keeps doing this to me), because, like Roslin said, he had a crisis to deal with (two, if you count Daddy falling apart like a pack of cards) and he handled it wonderfully. (But I'd be happier if he cut his hair. Please, Lee.)
Speaking of Adama and Tigh, how deep is their love? I was a little meh about Adama's breakdown, but it makes sense, given that TIGH is a frakking toaster now. TIGH. His BFF for thirty years and most trusted ally. The Adama/Tigh reveal was wonderful; great acting from both EJO and Michael Hogan. ETA: Gah, the scene is *worse* in rewatch. I take back the meh (well, most of it. WTF emo robe, Bill?) about Adama's breakdown. It's Saul Tigh, people. Could they be any slashier?
Tigh!!!!!!!!!!! ♥
Baltar and Laura's interaction was great, very much like the previous episode. Also, Laura and Lee's little amused look once Adama is up and about like nothing happened, what breakdown, hahaha, is PRICELESS. Hee.
D'Anna. You really are the coolest Cylon ever. Her expression in the end, when she stands beside Adama and Roslin, is absolutely *priceless*.
A lot of loose threads - Adama and Tigh; the Final Cylon (was Dee on Earth? if she wasn't, my bet is on either Ellen or Kendra); Kara and Sam; Kara and Leoben; the Dying Leader; human/Cylon reconciliation (?); Caprica Six (can we have a D'Anna/Caprica reunion plz?); Laura and Tory...
Was that the Temple of Aurora? Why else would they show us the Scriptures in the beginning? And it ended panning on Starbuck, as always ("Fight'em till we can't"; "I found Earth"), and Starbuck is Aurora...
I can't believe we have to wait till 2009.
Bear McCreary has an excellent post on this episode's music here. (the post contains spoilers)
The post-hiatus teaser in slo-mo is here.

Date: 2008-06-15 07:58 am (UTC)Caprica was also on ground, so I'm assuming she has been pardoned as well? And she walked right past Baltar and reached out to Tigh! (Okay, I want someone to love Caprica, even if it is Tigh. Actually, Tigh is capable of fierce love. This episode was all about Tigh's undying love for Adama... Caprica/Tigh can be an interesting ship, actually.)
And, yes, I think that *must* be the Temple of Aurora -hubby caught it for me. Why else would they make the point of it in the beginning?
Yes, exactly. But where do we go from here?
Did you see the way Papadama's fingers curled into Lee's hair? *g*
Well, he could use a cut himself...
