SO, I FINALLY WATCHED HIMYM 4.01.

BARNEY! BARNEY'S IN LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE! How much do you love that Barney confessed to Lily? Aly Hannigan and NPH have a fabulous chemistry together, and I'm glad the show writers are using them together again.

My favourite part? The phonecall to Robin. Where he makes that noise and then hangs up. And then she calls back and makes the same noise, and I just… *FLAILS* START KISSING ALREADY, YOU TWO. YOUR LOVE IS MEANT TO BE! FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER.

Very deep love for Lily. ♥♥♥

Marshaaaallll! His new hair is extraordinarily dorky, but I'm glad he's looking out for Ted. Because they're bros, man, and that's what bros do.

Stella walked out during the Star Wars theme! Who walks out during the Star Wars theme? That's practically blasphemy! I don't think she's the mother, but I love the actor, and Stella and Ted are really cute together.

AND THEN BARNEY WATCHED METRO NEWS ONE. !!!!!!!!!♥♥♥

OH GOD I LOVED IT WHEN HE TURNED ON THE NEWS! And then he went and jumped in the shower with the bimbo. Hee, Barney. And I loved it, too, that he went straight to Lily - she's his standard for, like, 'human behaviour'.

Also, I know it was a plot device, but who doesn't like (the original) Star Wars??

YES! He really is the kindergarten kid in need of grown up assistance - well, as grown up as Lily can be.

And yes, who doesn't like Star Wars????? She called Chewey a BEAR! This, this is the reason why Stella, in spite of being pretty awesome, is not the mother. She can't be.

No, Stella can't be the mother. And not just for the bear thing, although yes to that. (Srsly, even people who haven't seen the movie know who the characters are! They're iconic damn it!)

Stella can't be the mother because Ted isn't ready for it - he's making all the same mistakes with her that he made with Robin. Being into someone and wanting to make a commitment doesn't mean you are right for each other! I'm hoping the significance of the whole Stella story is that this is what prepares Ted to really find his OTP.

Ted is making the same mistakes. Ted is jumping into relationships because he wants to find The One and marry and live happily ever after. Having Marshall and Lily beside you for constant comparison doesn't help, of course. (How much do you love that these are all traditional girl characteristics? And that Marshall called Ted on it?)

Stella also can't be the mother because her daughter is too old already.

I'm wondering what they're going to do when the mother is finally revealed - have they already shot that scene? I'm thinking they can't bring those kids back to film new scenes because they will have aged so much.

I've heard things about them having already shot that scene. The kid actors know who the mother is, so the show writers joked about how they hoped no one would go and press them for information.

OH I LOVE THEM THIS MUCH. It makes such a nice change to watch a show that doesn't live from season to season, that actually knows where it's going and plans ahead.
