There was a time when I used to think Buffy/Giles was badbadWRONG, and that I would never, ever *dream* of reading that pairing. Now is not that time.

*facepalm*

Also, hi. I realise that I haven't updated in ages, but I'd been out of town for a week or so, visiting my grandfather, my kitties, catching up with old friends and such. It was fun, but damn it's good to be home. I missed fandom *so much*. *g*

My grandfather lives in a small town (or shall we say a medium-sized town?); a place where I originally hail from. Every now and then my old friends and I get together over there, squeeing over new things and sighing over old things. These are the people who know me from school, know all about my stupid school gaffes that I would never tell anyone (well, except maybe a few close friends), and I know everything about them in turn. It's feels so *good* when we get together, like it's all like old times and we're still in school together... *sigh* Anyway, the thing about small towns is that when things change, you'll always notice - even more so when you don't actually live there anymore. And this time, when we hung around, going to all the old places and sighing nostalgically about past events, I really noticed how *much* things have changed. All the 'older' people (i.e people in their twenties; stop laughing) we took for granted have moved away, either to another place, or too caught up in their lives to sit in a coffee house and chat pointlessly for hours. And sitting in our places, doing the same things that *we* used to do, were kids I couldn't recognise (or could, vaguely, like "He's X's BROTHER? I don't believe it!). These kids looked so young. Looking at them made me feel almost... old.

Does this make any sense? Don't suppose so. *g*

I *thought* you were trying to express a change of heart but wasn't sure.

Yes, like I said, I have an odd way of expressing myself. Le sigh. But I'm glad we're clear anyway.

You seemed interesting enough that I was going to friend you, but I didn't want you to think that it was in response to your friending if you wound up deciding I was a yucky freak.

After being on the HP fandom for a while, I can't think of *anyone* as an yucky freak because of their reading preferences. Because there are people who like Umbridge/Peeves (okay, I made that one up - but I'm close, aren't I? *g*). These are also the sanest, most intelligent people I've ever come across, lol!

Whew! LJ politics is exhausting, isn't it? *grin*

Yes! I was very shy about friending people - what if they mind? I've learnt only recently that it doesn't matter, and I'm still very cautious about it.

Then an influx of HP people with shiny brains discovered the community and I figured that one of them could do a better job than me.

I do hope someone will sign up for it. That pairing needs more love. *g*

It's astonishing how different HP and Buffy are. Those fans are often on other planets, each with their own set of intolerant quirks and charming good points.

I say that everytime I step into a new fandom. All my three fandoms are *so* different from each other - I love them anyway.
