MORGAAANA!
Oct. 4th, 2009 03:19 pmThe following might not make any sense, because I have the plague and am currently under heavy medication, and also because this was a MORGANA EPISODE, GUYS, AND AFTER THE LAST EPISODE'S MORGANA!FAIL, THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED.
You can probably guess what my thoughts were throughout: Morgana! MORGANA! MORGAAAANA! Gaius, die! Merlin, tell her! MORGANA! OMG hand-squeeze <333! Arthur wants flowers too! MORGANA! OMG! MORGANA!
+ So anyway. Gaius. He is shady and ev0l, and just because he is also funny and snarky and cares about everyone in his own fashion does not mean he can get away with the shady. I can imagine how he is justifying not telling Morgana:
a. He is trying to protect her from Uther.
b. He is trying to protect Uther from the heartbreak.
c. He has probably been warned against Morgana's powers by the dragon.
I'm sure he tells himself these things all the time, but the real reason why he won't tell Morgana - even after knowing that she is half out of her mind and setting her own room to fire - is because he is saving his own back. Merlin loves him and trusts him, but if Morgana finds out that he has been lying to her and drugging her? Gaius beware, oh yes.
That, and because Morgana is a girl.
+ Arthur is jealous because Merlin didn't bring him flowers, ahaha! Arthur, sweetheart, if you want flowers, you have to be nice to him FIRST. And that last scene, aww. Clearly he's torn between shipping Merlin/Morgana and Merlin/himself and a little jealous that Merlin gets to give Morgana flowers while HE can't give Gwen any.
+ Merlin/Morgana is smoking hot. Merlin needs to tell her right now.
+ Uther Pendragon maybe a crazy, genocidal tyrant, but he loves his children. Aw.
+ This was a pretty dark episode, wasn't it? Arthur may be against genocides and such on principle, but when he has reasons to believe that the Druids have kidnapped his sort-of sister, he is no less ruthless than his father. And Merlin, again has blood of his own kind on his hands (and by extension, Morgana - who displayed a bit of her characteristic self-centredness when she was all 'LONELY, I AM SO LONELY' when Merlin asked her to run away).
+ Morgana is a lot quicker to call the druids her people then Merlin. (That said, sweetheart, you do remember you killed one of them, right? Blood on her hands. Very much like Merlin. I love how neither she and Merlin have their moral compasses set very straight.)
+ Gwen and Morgana hand-squeeze FTW! That said, she had little to do in this episode, and why am I not surprised? The two of them are never going to feature in each other's big episodes, are they?
+ Aglain is NOT DEAD, OKAY? Also I ship Aglain/Morgana.
+ No wonder Mordred kills Arthur.
+ Morgana. MORGANA! Oh, where to start! She had lines! And her eyes glowed golden! And she told Merlin! And then she went to the forest all by herself without even a sword and in a shiny red dress (practicality not being her forte) and found the druids! Who were awesome! And Mordred, who hearts her! I CANNOT EVEN BE COHERENT NOW, GUYS.
+ Also, that time when Uther was hugging her? Morgana was totally looking at Gwen all the time, hee.
+ Arthur carried Morgana in his own horse, awwwww.
+ AND IN THE NEXT EPISODE, WE GET MORGANA FIGHTING BANDITS IN HER UNDERWEAR. (Also Lancelot, who has apparently spent all his time thinking of how he will GIVE HIS LIFE FOR GWEN, which is adorable, even if the character himself bores me to tears.)
