Things have been slow on the boards lately. No one seems to write anything. Even the FFMB has been slow. I suppose I could always post something to get people to talk, but I've not been feeling much like posting things either. Why am I complaining?

So anyway, I've been cruising the net in search of something amusing, and I came across this: The Pottersues Crossover Challenge. Now I'm imagining what it would be like to have Michael and Nikita in Hogwarts. Or Harry Potter in Section One. *cackle*

Operations: (storms in) What do you mean you won't handle guns, Mr. Potter?

Harry: This. Stupefy!

Or maybe:

Operations: Michael, there is something I want you to handle.

Michael: (blank stare)

Operations: My old friend, Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, has asked for our assistance regarding something.

Michael: *blink* Witchcraft and wizardry?

Operations: That's right. There's this boy, Harry Potter. (presses the remote, and holo-screen with Harry's image comes up) He needs someone to protect him from his enemy, Lord Voldemort. For that, I want you and Nikita to go to Hogwarts and act as his bodyguards. Mr. Birkoff is working on the intel - I want you to prepare the mission profile. Remember, it is ab-so-lutely necessary that we protect the boy. Is that clear?

Michael: Of course. (Starts to walk away)

Operations: Michael? (Michael stops, turns around) Make sure Nikita keeps her mind on the mission. Be careful of the Potions Master.

Michael: Of course.

We need a glossary like this in the LFN fandom.

I hear you.

I wait, completely passively, for amusement to come to me via the web - and - NADA. (though the Legolas/Treebeard thread on F_W was pretty funny.....*g*)

Not that I'm doing anything useful to contributing to conversation either....I decided I wanted to write just one small, new insert chapter for Mrs. Sam before the next bit. I written exactly one - not especially good - sentence.

Yawning is about all I can seem to do....

I'm sooo glad to know I'm not the only one who has been staring disappointedly at the computer screen, whining "Amuuuuuuuuuse meeeeeeee!" Apparently it is a worldwide phenomenon. Must be sunspots or something.

I *love* the crossover. *Snort*

Wait till you hear the next part. *eg*

And then, Michael and Nikita go to Hogwarts to protect poor Harry. Dumbledore reveals that Michael and Nikita are actually really, really powerful wizards, and Michael is really the Heir of Godric Gryffindor. Everyone steps in to teach them magic, because it's now upto Michael and Nikita to save Harry from Voldemort. Unbeknownst to everyone, Voldemort recruits Red Cell to foil Dumbledore's plans. Meanwhile, all the girls are in love with Michael, and Malfoy has a crush on Nikita. Snape falls madly in love with Nikita (or Michael) and tries to feed her (or him) a love potion...

but on the subject of movie cross-overs, I was whining about historical accuracy in fanfics to Jen the other day, and then I drifted into imagining an LFN/Gone With the Wind crossover.

Now that would be something to see, wouldn't it? Because if there was ever a man to give Michael Samuelle a run of his money it would be CG's Rhett Buttler - I'm going all starry-eye again just thinking about it.

Personally, my money would be on Rhett. ;)

IMHO, the historical fanfics are usually inaccurate due to simple lack of research on the author's part. Most authors also make the mistake of trying to use strange archaic words and phrases, which makes the conversations sound very stilted.

Now that would be something. But I refuse to comment on that last part.

No new chapter or any contribution whatsoever of any kind from me, and yet I'm cranky that there's nothing to read. Heh. Contrary bunch, ain't we?

I don't know what I'd do without F_W on days like these. The new one where someone declares Tolkien's Elves = Cherokees (or so I gathered) is quite funny too. *g*

Nice Mikey icon, btw

Don't you just love that pic? *sigh*

So I had to go look, of course....and that Cherokee = elves is definitely a bizzare one. I don't know if it is wanky, so much as extremely weird - and so definitely worth pointing and laughing.

And it is a very nic pic.

Heh heh heh.

Your crossover kept me giggling at the oddest times of the day today, you know. *g*

As for that glossary from Veela Inc, I agree that an LFN one would be a great idea. But perhaps it would be a good idea to skip any sicophantic entries regarding uber-authors. *rolls eyes*

Like the crossover, do you? I'm particularly taken with the Snape falling madly in love with Nikita and feeding her love potions scenario. *eg*

Heh. These HP fen just can't resist publicly sucking up to the BNFs. *shakes head in amusement*

Ah, but that is their speciality. The HP fandom, especially when it comes to that particular uber-author, has no sense decency whatsoever. It's like a 'who can suck up more' contest. Ugh!
