down the rabbit hole
Mar. 17th, 2010 09:30 pmRather enjoyable episode; quite POTW heavy, but since I liked the POTW, I didn't mind. In fact, it was fun to see House being crazy/obsessive over a patient - it felt very old-skool. They've been mixing it up this season, and I'm loving it so far. Nothing particularly thinky, just brief notes:
a. House himself felt very old-skool today: messing with Wilson, obsessing over a patient, messing with Taub, being mean to the POTW's boyfriend's father for sleeping with his son's girlfriend, having misgivings about people's capacity to change (that's how I interpret the last scene; if the show breaks Taub/Rachel up, I will CRY).
b. Was that... Wilson coming to terms with the fact that he basically defines himself as House's Comfortador? Thoughts, flist?
c. Wilson in the shop. ♥ (I also had flashbacks to Wilson and Amber furniture shopping.)
d. Tiny Taub trying to reach for his phone, ahaha.
e. Foreman being a buzzkill.
f. Cuddy being AWESOME in a TINY scene. SO AWESOME. CONFRONTATION ABOUT THE APARTMENT, ONLY OF A MATURE KIND BECAUSE SHE IS AWESOME LIKE THAT.

I watched Alice in Wonderland again yesterday. It's also a Tim Burton take on Wizard of Oz, isn't it? Because the humanization of the Red Queen and the entire Red Queen/White Queen thing felt very Oz-like to me. The White Queen is *very* shrewd and evil in her own way. Alice/Hatter had a Dorothy/Scarecrow feel to it, though I'm glad they didn't make it too shippy.
The ending is still disappointing, but I'm going to pretend that halfway through her journey, Alice meets a black pirate ship owned by this dirty yet strangely familiar pirate called Captain Jack Sparrow, and decides she'll rather become a pirate instead.
