+ State of me:

That said, being confined in one place worked wonders for my productivity. Still no fan fiction, but I did some Important Work, so I guess that's okay, right?

+ Batgirl #14: Steph + Kara + emo!Draculas = ♥♥ ♥ This book makes me smile like nothing else.

+ Nikita. That part where I said I wouldn't compare it to the old show? I totally lied. *g*

= Changed setting from 'Europe' to 'rogue government agency'. It works. That said, how pathetic are the Section One Division operatives, being taken down like that?

= Michael, or That Guy from who played Tom Sawyer in the LXG movie (with Peta Wilson! who was the only good thing about it!): You, sir, are no Roy Dupuis. I appreciate that he's not really trying to be, because let's face it, no one could match Michael's Blank Stare or the Missionpants or his Epic Manpain. Verdict: passable.

= Pyro, also known as Birkoff: again, Seymour Birkoff was cooler than thou. Way cooler. And he had cooler toys to play with. That said, he kinda grew on me in the end. Verdict: Good.

= Amanda: Madeline's Lair! The wardrobe! Alberta Watson, however, will be a difficult act to follow. Verdict: Hmm. Pondering.

= Percy: Operations is supposed to be charismatic, and this guy is not. Also, apparently, Evil McEvil. Verdict: Dislike.

= Thom and Jaden. Baby recruits are fun, because one complaint I've always had of LFN is that they refused to develop the secondary characters. Verdict: Hmm.

= Guy in glasses who kills people: who is he?

= Alex: She grew on me in the course of the episode, and the last scene has ensured that I will continue to watch. A mole! Sent by none other than Nikita! Verdict: Good

= Nikita: Maggie Q sold it as the jaded rouge operative who is on an insane crusade to bring down Section One Division. I dislike the dead lover who was actually a cover plotline (clearly Daniel is her Elena), but then she played the emotional attachment card and shot Michael, which pretty much sealed my approval of her as Nikita. Verdict: Good

= The current set-up is a riff on the Adrian arc in the end of LFN S2, which I heartily approve of. I will look forward to more Nikita and Alex and Birkoff, and spy intrigue. That said, the person who wrote the NYT article clearly hadn't watched LFN, because no way is this pilot 'darker' than that show. It doesn't come close. Will it come close to the moral dilemmas that made the first two seasons of LFN so interesting? Who knows. Probably not. But it could be its own brand of fun, so I'll keep watching as of now.
