once more, with feeling
Sep. 27th, 2010 08:11 pmTen things I loved about THE OLIVIA DUNHAM SHOW Fringe premiere. With pictures.
1) Olivia-torture. I was prepared for this, having watched each and every one of the clips they released before the premiere, but I didn't expect the psychiatrist to be that creepy or stoic!Olivia so very painful.

'This is not my life.'
2) Walternate. Oh man, Walternate! He is so very different from Walter - commanding, intimidating, a general rather than a mad scientist. That was some fantastic work from John Noble there.

Also, geeky Massive Dynamic scientist works for the government in this universe! ♥
3)

'I'm not crazy.'
The episode uses many shots like this: Olivia and her reflection. Being split in two.
4)

How much did you love Henry? ♥♥♥ Olivia's interaction with him gave me TSCC flashbacks: Sarah and the doctor who operated on her; desperate circumstances and initial threats give way to real camaraderie. Henry was a person, not just a cardboard prop for Olivia's angst, and I really heart that.
I would like to see him back, please.
5) Olivia's shooting prowess as a Plot Point. Show, I ♥ you. Again, note the reflection.

6)

She won't even cry in front of us. Olivia makes my heart hurt.
7) Note the backdrop: the angry sloganeers. Walternate's regime is not a trouble-free one.

8)

'I'm stuck here.'
9) Alt-Broyles is not pleased. Olivia inspires immense loyalty wherever she goes, and this seems to be a trait Alt-Livia shares with her. This should turn out to be interesting.

10) That scene with Alt-Livia's mother, oh my. The way she just gives in, because she's alone and lost and stuck in an alternate universe, and she wants her mother.

'This is your safe house.'
