Batgirls are forever

Enough moaning about comics, let me tell you about my weekend, flist. That is to say, spam you with photographs.
I spent last weekend at the seaside with my sister, my cousin and her husband. It was great fun, and a lot of fish was eaten. The seaside in question does not have much in the way of a beach - it had a beach, once, but the land here is soft and still in the process of formation, and most of the beach was destroyed after successive cyclones and general erosion. It's still (mostly) pretty (ignoring the littering idiots that is):

The sun, to my disappointment, did not disappear into the sea as it should have.

I compensated with fish.

And woke up early for the sunrise. Still no sea/sun photo, alas. Also, the silhouette in the last photograph is a man taking photos and not a two-legged turtle.

Boats.

I can't decide if I like the coloured one more or the pretentious monochrome one.

More pretentious monochrome.

This is a dried-up riverbed.

And this is not a desert.

A beach, actually.

This beach.

Trufax: that shiny stuff on the sand and the leaf? Gold dust. Not enough to merit mining, but enough for me to pretend this is a forgotten fairytale beach with golden sand.

The last shot with the boys might be my favourite.

More sunrise.

Waaaaves.
