One Diane to rule of them all

swatkatI might be late to the party, but the TGW season opener was fantastic, except for Alicia's new hair and the part where the show-writers patted themselves on the back for coming up with a really clever comment on Israel/Palestine/Judaism/Islam (they were in love, you guys, did you get it? it was love, twisted into hate and hurt and bloodshed).
+ Diane is the BEST. I don't know how Christine Baranski owns every scene she's ever in, but she just does, and every little thing Diane did in this episode, from picking up on the (deliberately projected) uncomfortable vibes between Will and Alicia to asking Alicia and Kalinda to 'make it better', was pure gold.
+ I ♥ Eli Gold, and watching him troll Taub was brilliant.
+ I think I'm really going to enjoy Peter vs. Alicia this season. I'm not exactly fond of Peter, but when he's not being a slimy bastard he shows traces of the person Alicia fell in love with and married, and I don't mind that guy. I love how he seems to genuinely enjoy matching his wits with Alicia.
+ Good lord, Will and Alicia. For a moment I thought I was watching something on HBO.
+ Kalinda and Sophia! Kalinda and Sophia investigating things together! \0/ This has to be one of the best developments in this new season, and I hope that continues. I won't lie, I ship them hard.
+ The bar scene with Kalinda and Will broke my heart into tiny little pieces. Because, as you know, from prior documentation/squeeing, that I adore their friendship and think they should be the best bros in the whole world. They just get each other on a fundamental level, talking about their (not-)feelings and how much they love Alicia and Will calling her K. And, oh, Kalinda - feelings hurt, don't they? That why you said you'd rather not confide in any one, that you're better off as a ~lone wolf, and yet here you are, hanging out with Will in this bar while you studiously deny that you need a friend. <33
Kalinda does need a friend. And Will is a good friend, in his own way. But the friend that she wants and needs? That's Alicia, and they just need to make this better now, okay? I need them to make it better.
