Lin Beifong has given everything for her city: the best years of her life, her career, her reputation, and now, her bending. Talk about living up to her mother's legacy.
The enormity of Korra's task hits you when you think of the enormity of Lin's sacrifice.
When we first met her, she was cold and distant, and we thought, perhaps, this lady doesn't give a damn. We know better now: no one cares like Lin Beifong.
And if she survives this battle? She's going to give everything else she has left for the city again. Bending or no bending, you can't hold back a Beifong.
And now, no more borrowed superhero names for her. Measure the DCU/Marvel heroes in a scale of one to LIN if you will. She's Lin Beifong. She's a hero.

I think about how she and Aang got along 'famously', and how this is her role in upholding his legacy and protecting his family, and I tear up all over again. LIIIIIIN. *______*
