I mourn the fannish drift from LJ/DW to Tumblr/Twitter as much as anyone else, but I think I'm beginning to get the hang of this multiple platforms thing again, and starting to figure out *how* I'm going to use every platform and keep track of the conversations. Tumblr, more often than not, is just too quick for me to keep track of - so I frequently find myself staying away when I lack the energy to navigate and skim through tags. Twitter is excellent in that regard, in the sense that I can simply tweet 'this fic is so OOC, ugh', without having to justify the necessity of the post with more content. I read more fanfiction in AO3 and ff.net, but there's nothing I love more than a LJ/DW post to comment on or maybe come back to to follow the rest of the discussion by other people.

I've been thinking a lot of about Hogwarts AUs of late (even been meaning to make a post about it), so yes, Hogwarts AU! For Warehouse 13! I've read some fic in this vein, but I'd really like to read a lot more about the adventures of Myka Bering, Ravenclaw Prefect and future Head Girl, and HG Wells, mad Slytherin (bordering on Ravenclaw) genius who just really wants to get into Myka's pants. For the sake of scientific curiosity, of course - she's only slept with a couple of Ravenclaws, and none of them female. And maybe some crack time travel adventures featuring a time turner, dinosaurs in the Forbidden Forest, one Pete Lattimer (Gryffindor Beater, Myka's best friend) and ickle Claudia (Ravenclaw second year, she just really looks up to Myka).

Date: 2012-08-30 07:48 am (UTC)I will ask for an epic Lin/Korra (or just Lin-centric with Korra in the fray, pairing not necessary) narrative that delves into Lin's relationship with her city, and the occasionally contradictory roles that the Avatar and the Chief of Police must play - the Chief as someone who upholds status quo and the Avatar as someone whose loyalty lies not to the state machinery, but the world and the maintenance of balance in the world. Lin's world weariness and Korra's naive bouncy Korra-ness would of course need to come into conflict in order to truly satisfy my narrative kinks. And Asami, I'd want a lot of Asami and Lin interaction and a questioning of Lin's approach to non-benders as well. But above all, Lin and her city and her police force, with a Sam Vimes-ish feel to it. It's not too much to ask, is it?
