The cat seems to have developed a fracture on a front paw. I’m not sure what she did exactly – looks like she’s been ran over by something; maybe a bicycle (I’m not surprised. she *runs* about in the street. no, it can’t be stopped.)- but she came home limping yesterday morning. She seemed fine in the evening, but this morning the paw was horribly swollen. We visited the vet just now (where she misbehaved dreadfully), and he says it definitely *looks* fractured. We have an appointment on Tuesday at the clinic where she’ll be x-rayed, and we’ll know for sure then. The vet says it might have been only a crack yesterday, but she aggravated it by dancing about the place (she danced. she rolled about and turned *somersaults* in the sofa chasing a piece of paper). *sigh* I swear this is the most troublesome cat I’ve ever had.

My biggest problem with Lost is the lack of humour. Oh, there’s some snark every now and then – Hurley snarks, Boone and Shannon snark at each other (I would so read Boone/Shannon), even Sawyer is funny at times – but it’s not really a very funny show. All my fandoms have humour (LFN was quite funny, sometimes unwittingly so). The humour is the reason why I enjoy Desperate Housewives and Wonderfalls(which is teh awesome, and WTF were they thinking when the cancelled it?) more than Lost.
Also, WTF is up with the weird shaking camera????
That said, I *have* been enjoying it. I confess, I kinda like Sawyer. He’s a slimy bastard, but he’s a very pretty slimy bastard. And I’m shallow.
Sayid has the best backstory so far – ‘Solitary’ is definitely the best among the ten eps I’ve seen. I liked Nadia, and I would definitely read some good backstory fic (I may have to go looking, since none of you can point me to it :p). And Rousseau! She’s so amazing! Every scene they had together rocked.
I noticed that Sayid was praying while hanging upside down in Rousseau’s trap.
I like Kate, but I need more backstory. She has potential.
I hope Shannon turns out to be the Cordelia of this show. She definitely has potential, and after the Big Thing happens (yes, I know what happens. it’s not fair *sob*), she’ll have to grow up a bit.

There seems to be some very interesting racism wank going on in F_W, with posts such as "poverty is a disease. people CHOOSE to be poor" and "what message about America did it show the world to see how animalistic our own people could be?" (as a part of the 'world', sometimes I wonder - what do these people think we think of Americans? that they're some kind of Superpeople Who Can Do No Wrong, no matter what the circumstance is?) Quite fitting, since today happens to be Mahatma Gandhi's birthday. The newspapers are, as usual, full of melodramatic "the nation today has forgotten Gandhi", and patronising "the youth do not understand Gandhi" articles and discussions that make me grit my teeth. I wish they would for *once* write something insightful instead of the same old cliched crap.

Date: 2005-10-02 11:29 pm (UTC)you haven't seen the Sawyer/Sayid scene after a boar runs thru camp, have you? I think it's about ep. 15/16 - it's a Sawyer-centric ep.
Anyway, this particular scene is funny as hell. I love it when Sawyer and Sayid get their smirk on...
